"Ran, you are a great scientist and you will be successful and no, you are not a killer, it just so happens that you have to kill her in that universe so she can't talk to the reporter and tell the world there, that she is a clone."

I told myself as I realized the bitter truth that Amethyst is the most intelligent human clone I have designed, out of all the failures I have in life, she is the only thing that has gone right, but she will cause me a lot of misery if she destroys that code I have implanted in her palms. ..........................................

Yes she has figured it all out.

I watched Amethyst lay on the floor, limp and lifeless with blood around her in that cozy Sunday night in a Berlin Airport, in my black cap and black mask.

Somehow I felt a really bad vibe in my heart, as if I have killed someone so close to me, and so someone so close to my memories, but the people are swarming around me, looking really angry because I just killed a girl who did nothing but wonder with a laptop in her hand.

I really thought she has seen the code in her palm, that's why I immediately went into the alternate universe  door in my laboratory to do this evil plan of stopping her, I also read thoughts from her mind, where she tried to device a plan to talk to a reporter about something, and I really thought she was gonna tell the girl that she is a clone,

but now that I see it, I am wrong.

She is still confused, and baffled, but why does she know she is amethyst, where did she get that idea or that name?

Was it me who told her? I have been keeping track of her progress that I might have missed out on some important thought processes she had, since I literally have to live in the universe where she was at each moment, that I might have missed looking at her thoughts server in the lab.

When people noticed that It was I who pulled the trigger and aimed the gun at Amethyst, some people immediately run after me and I had to escape as fast as I could and locate the alternate universe door which I passed through, but I also need to press the button in my watch so amethysts could disappear and be sent back to the lab.

Why does she have it easy? And I have to literally run in this alternate world where people does not matter to me, as I run towards the exit of the airport, thoughts came lurking in my head,

"what is it then, that matters to me? Who matters to me?"

Unlike her, I have no sense of joy and belongingness or optimism, Amethyst, I realized seemed to be more human than me..."
