"You've been here with me for almost a week, don't you have something to do outside this place?"
They are currently cooking in the tiny space inside the stage which Lisa calls her pantry. Jennie is mincing some garlic, while Lisa is washing some lettuce. Living under the same roof as Lisa for quite a while now, Jennie learns that the woman has been providing herself with her very own source of food—which is plants and vegetables that she grows in the glass house attached to the building behind the theatre. So that is what Jennie has been having for a while now, leaves and grass.
The glass house itself used to be the space for one of the makeup rooms for the theatre performers—so Lisa told; it was one of the so rare occasions where Lisa was a bit approachable and hospitable. The thing is, living with Lisa has become one hell of a challenge for Jennie. It is even harder for her to act accordingly because Jennie is not one who has ever shared space with anyone. She is never one who is considerate towards others' feelings or opinions. Everyone always does as she pleases, then comes Lisa who is not everyone and Jennie must learn to speak of the right matter and ask the right question.
It is not that Lisa happens just to make her life a living hell; after all, they have been keeping their heads together and even managed to possess the exact amount of decency to be as civil as possible towards each other. Well, sure, they argue from time to time—especially when Jennie seemingly asks the wrong question to Lisa or when Lisa simply being Lisa, a little bit of a cynic with a sprinkle of crudeness, but fortunately, it has never come to the point where they are forced to pull their guns out and rest them on each other's temples.
"Are you driving me out?"
See, wrong question.
Now gone the civility, Lisa is currently being Lisa—the cynic with rudeness in the twist, and when Lisa is being Lisa, she always manages to throw these bitter snaps at Jennie and it always makes Jennie think if her presence is actually strongly opposed by the other but now that they have already been dragged in the same mud, Lisa has no options but to keep Jennie in her place.
Well, there is that—or it can be that Lisa acts the way she does towards Jennie because the woman simply hates the heiress since the very beginning, which cannot be wrong in any measurement, observing from the way she has been treating Jennie from the start. The chance of it is just so bloody high. It will not surprise her if one day Lisa does admit she hates her—Jennie has seen it coming all along.
It is not that Jennie wants to get close to the woman, but they live under the same roof for fuck's sake, at least she can be a bit friendlier if being a hospitable host is the most impossible task to do at the moment—so Jennie thinks. It is only fair, is it not? After all, it was Lisa who insisted she stayed when all she wanted to do was stray, so why after going through the hassle of convincing her to stay, Lisa decides to give her cold shoulders from time to time or to speak to her in such a distaste, just like what she did just now.
"That's not—urgh," if Jennie could only roll her eyes more, she would have seen her brain. Lisa really does not know how to have a conversation, "I just asked you if you had a job, tiger. You've been isolating yourself like I have to. It's been over a month! I was just asking, dammit! Why did you have to bite?!"
Jennie never raises her voice over such an unnecessary trivial matter, but being constantly put in a position where all she asks only earns her such a response does not help the woman keep her cool. It seems like even the one who has been trained to keep composure and calmness all her life cannot keep herself collected when facing a Lalisa Kang. The Lisa—in question, however, just slightly glances at the woman who is a couple of inches shorter than her. She scoffs and sighs.
