At about three in the afternoon, Donna, Deacon, and Dotty arrived at our house. I had to get help from Mom to make the Mooncakes because I haven't baked in forever. It felt so good to be home though.
I carried the cakes and coffee to the living room table before placing them down. I smiled and sat in Deacon's lap on one of the couch chairs because my mother and father were on the couch with Donna in between them. Dotty had fallen asleep on the two seated couch about twenty minutes ago and there was no way I was gonna sit on the floor. Not to mention, Deacon was begging me to with his eyes and I have a hard time saying no to him. Don't get me wrong, I love Deacon, I really do, I just don't want to ruin anything between us. I feel like if he knew, he'd leave.
He smiled at me and I smiled back before I brought my attention back to my parents. They wanted to know everything, and when we told them, they seemed to be more pissed than anything. We sat in silence for a good three minutes before Donna got up, mad as all could be.
"You little tramp! Do you seriously think I'm gonna believe that you got kidnapped by some wizard that tortured you!? You're probably the one who kidnapped Deacon and ran away with him! We all know you have feelings for him, so it would make sense!" Donna kept yelling at me and didn't even let anyone else say anything. I really did want to cry, but I didn't because I'm tired of crying for the same damn reasons.
"You know what Donna, I didn't think you'd go as far as to call me a liar about something like this. Sure, it may be a little weird that Deacon and I got kidnapped at the same time in your eyes, but that's what happened and I will admit that it is my fault. I should have listened to him and stay away from the fox with two different eyes, I was just curious on if it needed help, so sorry for being that kind of person. You may be right that I like Deacon, but I'm not gonna kidnap someone just because I like them. Come talk to me when you're done accusing me of shit I didn't do."
I didn't give anyone time to react before I left the house and started flying somewhere. How could she do that? She was always like a second mother to me, but I guess I was wrong. I sighed and watched all the trees pass by until I saw our old tree house. I smiled and flew down to in before landing on the deck. In the small window, I saw a blonde haired girl sitting in one of the corners.
"Hey, are you ok?" I slowly approached her and she turned to me. Her light blue eyes sparkled a little from the light reflecting off her watery eyes. Once she saw me she smiled.
"Angelina, is that you?" She got up and slowly walked towards me, causing me to stop.
"Zianna?" She nodded and I smiled before hugging her, causing her to hug me back
"I missed you. I'm sorry about Deacon, he got into a fight with Chase." I stared at her and sighed.
"How'd you know about that?" She let me go and sat back in the corner.
"I was there when it happened. I didn't recognize him at first and was confused about how he knew my name. I've been getting followed or stalked for a little while now. I guess I just assumed it was him. I only realized it was Deacon right after Chase beat the crap out of him. I saw the moon necklace to the set you got us when we were kids." She smiled as she said this before she started crying and playing with her own star-shaped necklace I gave her.
"Zianna, don't cry. It's ok, it's not your fault that any of this happened. And don't worry about Deacon. He's as ok as he can be." She looked over at me as I sat down next to her.
"What do you mean? Chase killed him. He broke every bone in Deacon's body. A human can't survive that Angelina!" I smirked at her and nodded.
"True, so if a human can't survive that, then how did he make it back here with me?" She stared at me dumbfounded.
"Wait...you're saying he isn't human?" I shook my head and she smiled. She hugged me again and calmed herself down before she pulled away. We sat there in silence until we heard something hit the outside wall. I looked out the window and saw Deacon, Dotty, and Donna.
"Hey, what is she doing here?" I pointed to Donna and gave her a glare. I'm still mad at her.
"I came to apologize. I don't know what came over me, I guess I was just mad at the fact everything happened the way it did." I wanted to forgive her, but I heard her mutter that she still believes I kidnapped Deacon. I rolled my eyes and jumped out the window, using my wings to stop myself before I landed.
"Look, Donna, I don't need your half-assed apology that isn't even genuine. If it really is the 'truth' you want, then fine. I'll tell you what you want to hear. I did kidnap Deacon at the age of eight because I liked him and didn't want anyone else to have him. I also put fake scars all over my body to make it look like we were both tortured. And I made up the whole wizard thing. Happy?"
She looked shocked, but mad at the same time. I rolled my eyes and took my sun necklace off and handed it to Deacon. He didn't take it at first, but Donna grabbed it and threw it into the woods not far behind me. I smiled at her and walked over to a tree before I looked at them.
"Bye Zianna, Deacon. Have a nice life. And I'm sorry for kidnapping you Deacon, I was just insecure." I smiled and took my jacket off, which was originally Deacon's, dropped it, and then ran into the woods. I could hear Deacon and Zianna screaming out for me to come back, but I didn't. A little while later, I saw Mariah and sighed. She smiled and then howled, causing Marcus to appear in front of me. He smirked and then walked over to me.
"Ah Cupcake, how did you manage to escape?" I gave him a blank stare and shrugged.
"That mansion was my mother's old base. I know it like the back of my hand. I just waited for the perfect opportunity to leave." He shook his head, obviously annoyed at my half lie.
"Really now? Then what happened to Deacon? Where's he?" I stared at Mariah and smirked.
"Your fox killed him for disobeying her." She looked shocked and Marcus was mad, but I don't know at who. He turned to Mariah and slapped her, causing her to whimper.
"He was valuable, a cross between a dragon, a rare species, and a windigo, who was thought to have gone extinct. He would have made the perfect weapon." He sighed and walked over to me before smirking. He pushed me to the ground before he crawled on top of me with an evil tint in his eyes. I started to panic and tried to get away from him, but he was stronger than me. Fighting with him is pointless, so I just didn't fight him.
"Ya know Cupcake, lying won't get you anywhere in life. If you truly knew that place like the back of your hand, you would have left sooner. Pity really, I didn't want to do this, but you left me no choice." He sat up and pulled a syringe out of his pocket. I started to panic again and screamed before he stuck the needle in my neck. He got off me as I felt myself falling, even though I was already on the ground. My vision started to blur and fade, but before I completely fell, I saw Deacon, Dotty, Donna, and Zianna staring at me. I gave them a small smile before everything disappeared into the blackness
