The next morning, Deacon wasn't in the room at all. Feeling the panic take over, I ran down the stairs and found Trisha and Ace making out in the kitchen. I gagged and Ace turned around with a scowl. Trisha blushed and pushed Ace away from her a little bit and hopped off the counter.

"Lina, good morning! I'm sorry you had to see that, I tried to-." She was rambling.

"Shush girl, I get it. You werewolves have a hard time fighting the attraction to your mate. Even if that means almost having sex on the kitchen table regardless of who may see." I smirked as I said this and Trisha blushed as red as a tomato. It kinda makes me wonder how Trisha, a nice, sweet, timid and shy girl ended up being mated to someone like Ace. He isn't a mean or bad guy, he just has anger and trust issues. He's been through a lot in his life. His own doubts are what causes many fights between him and Trisha, but I know he loves her, even if he doesn't come out and say it.

I smiled at them and walked over to the fridge to get a glass of milk and some pancakes from earlier.

"Oh Lina, there's something I need to tell you." I looked over at Ace with a pancake in my mouth. "Your little friend, Deacon was it? He got into a fight with Chase." At this, I dropped the pancake and glass of milk. Deacon got into a fight with Chase, Ace's twin brother. This is bad, this is very bad. I started pacing and tried to calm my breathing.

"Ace, tell me what happened!" I walked over to him and grabbed him by the collar. He pushed me away and I started pacing again.

"Well from what I know, Deacon was down here at around five. You already know how Chase's mate is a demon. Well, Chase had her over and Deacon was in the kitchen taking some of the bread. Chase didn't know he was here and when he got caught, he panicked and said somethings." Ace scratched the back of his neck as he said this and I urged him to go on, but he didn't.

"Ace! Tell me what was said! I need to know these things!" I stopped pacing for just a second before I continued. This is really really bad! Chase is the beta of this pack! He's the second in command and one of the strongest wolves I've ever known! If Deacon got into a fight with him, there's no guarantee he'd stand a chance. Chase could have ripped him to shreds!

"I don't really know, from what Chase said it was 'The bread is mine!' then he threw a slice at them and ran. Obviously, we wolves are faster than humans, so Chase caught up to him and they got into a fight." I sighed and rolled my eyes. I know bread is his favorite food, but I doubt Deacon would claim the bread as his and then throw it. He'd probably apologize, but eat the bread anyway.

"Fuck! This is not good, not good at all! Deacon is dead! He's done! What am I gonna do!? I should just die as well!" I started to hyperventilate as I paced faster.

"Lina, please calm down. I'm sure Deacon is alright." I wanted to listen to her, but I had too much going on in my head.

"Don't worry about it, I'll link Chase and as what happened to him." I softly smiled at Ace and nodded. I kept pacing and within five minutes, Chase came through the front door looking pissed.

"What do you want you little-" He stopped mid-sentence when he saw me, a small smile forming on his face. "Angelina! It's nice to see you again!" He ran over to me and hugged me. "Are you ok? What's the matter?"

"Where's Deacon." It was more of a statement rather than a question, but I didn't care.

"Who?" He pushed away from me a little bit and stared at me.

"Where. Is. Deacon. The guy you got into a fight with?" At this, he laughed a little.

"Oh, the human. He's dead, the little punk took the bread, stared at my girlfriend with googly eyes, and then started muttering her name." He laughed when he finished talking and I couldn't help but break down. I fell to the floor with the tears already streaming down my face.
