Forgotten

Chapter 4: Invitation

My eyelids were heavy, as I lifted them slowly. My gaze was met with the bright lights of the English classroom. Brushing my tawny hair out of my eye, I lifted my chin slightly to look at the time. I had been sleeping for 10 minutes.

Ugh... I can't stay awake on Fridays. When I realized that I was sleeping in English, I quickly jolted up, sitting with my back straight. My drooping eyelids searched for the teacher, hoping she hadn't noticed that I dozed off. Thankfully, she didn't notice my small nap. Someone did, though.

It was Brooke

I can't believe he actually fell asleep in class. I didn't think anyone would actually manage to do it without the teacher noticing. Impressive.

Shaking the surprise from my head, I gave him a significant look. Hoping he would glance in my direction, I locked my eyes on him. Once he sat up and looked around, I saw him catch sight of my eyes. He shot me a surprised look, and I replied with admiration. Maybe I should invite him to my party next weekend. I grabbed a sticky note from my binder, and started writing a note. Doing my best to avoid being caught by the teacher, I managed to write the note.

Would you like to come to a party at my house next Saturday? I think your really cool and I want to get to know you more. Also, if you tell my friends that I invited you before the day of the party, this room will get a nice new sangria paint job. 

After finishing the note with a slightly angry face on the corner, I waited for the teacher to turn back to the board. He seemed to catch on with what I was doing, and kept glancing in my direction. When I saw my chance, I quietly thrust the note into his direction.

After he grabbed it, I watched his eyes follow the words from left to right. Was I a little too harsh? I caught his eyebrows raising, and I figured it was the sangria part. Watching him scribble some words in response, I worried about what he would say. It was most likely going to be no. When he saw his window, he passed me the note. I read what he said

I'm in.
