Chapter 8: He or She?

When Sydney was 5 months along Winnie started to plan a gender reveal party with Bucky's sister Rebecca. Sydney fully moved in with Bucky after her dad kicked her out. James helped her get emancipation papers and her dad signed them and let her know that Jolene moved back to South Carolina. 

It was the day of her gender reveal she curled her red hair and put on her dress she bought for the party. She walked out of the bathroom Bucky said "You look beautiful baby." 

She smiled at him "Thanks." she said 

They left with his dad to go down the road to his sister's house. They went through the gate and saw how they did the gender reveal party. "Wow.. mom and Becca really went all out." he said as they walked through. 

"It's perfect Winnie I love it!" Sydney said as she hugged her and Becca. 

They all mingled and played different guessing games on what they think the baby is. Winnie finally said "Okay I need the mama and daddy to follow me and everyone else can follow." 

Everyone gathered around the front yard "Okay Syd you stand here." Winnie said 

"James you come all the way down here." Winnie said

"But mom why do I have to be so far away from Syd?' he said 

James came over with a box that said "What Will It Be." Bucky opened the box "Mom I am not throwing a football at my girlfriend she will get hurt." he said 

"Baby it pops open when you kick it." she said 

"What?' he said

"It's a gender reveal football it has the color in it so when you kick it busts open to reveal pink or blue." Winnie said

"Okay.." he said 

He took the football "Baby get ready mom says that this busts open to make the color fall out." he said

"Okay baby.." she said 

Bucky put it on the punt then kicked it as pink fell out. "It's pink!!" Sydney squealed and ran to him knocking him over. "It's pink baby we are having a girl!!" she said with a big smile. 

"You are so mean when you do that. But I'm happy that you are happy." he said as he sat up and kissed her. She rolled her tongue into his mouth "mmm baby family.. watching." he whisprered as he cupped her cheek. 

"Now we know what really happened in that closet." Sam said 

"Shut up." they both said 

"What you two make a baby in the closet and clearly it's because you two can't keep your hands or your lips to yourself." Clint said 

"Oh god.." Sydney said as she looked down at her bump then back to Bucky. Who had the same look on his face "We made baby playing 7 minutes in Heaven Syd..our daughter is never to play those games she's going to be a nerd." he said 

James started laughing "Good luck with that son." he said 

"Cadence Evangeline Barnes." she said as she felt her moving when she put her hand on her bump and Bucky put his "Perfect baby." he said 

"I love you." she said 

"I love you too." he said 

The following Monday they were talking at school when Dot seen them together. Sydney was finally accepting that she could no longer hide her bump and had on a outfit that showed it off.

"She's pregnant." Dot said behind Natasha. Natasha moved and Bucky said "Yeah she's 5 and half months pregnant with a baby girl." 

"Congrats Sydney.." she said with tears in her eyes. "Guess you really do win don't you.." she said then walked away wiping tears. 

Bucky looked at her Syd "I'll be back." 

"Okay" she said

"Dot wait" Bucky said 

She stopped and he came around to face her "Don't you be rude to Sydney because you and I lost a baby. Okay you have no idea what Sydney has had to go through because of the unexpected pregnancy. Her birth control failed. It's not a competition between you and her do you understand I love Sydney. I will always hold a special place in my heart for you Dot." he said 

"Yeah..I"m moving by the way. I"m gonna go live with my dad in Texas after school is over. So I hope you have nice a life Buck." she said then she walked away. 

Bucky went back to Sydney "She okay?' Sydney said

"I guess so.." he said
