4th Century B.C.E

The gods swarmed Mount Olympus. The Fates sent out word that a new prophecy showed itself to them, one that could change everything.

"What prophecy could be so important that we all have to be in the same room to hear it?" Ares complained.

"The Fates are the ones who requested us all,"Athena, argued,"So it must be critical. Its not everyday they're the one giving us orders"

All the gods agreed.

On top of Mount Olympus there stood a structure similar to the Parthenon, but made of clouds and stars. Tiny universes drifted through the clouds. The building radiated power, and so did the people walking through the door.

"Please sit," The three Fates, Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos simultaneously said. The cloaks they wore hid their entire bodies, all you could see was the glowing eye that they shared between them.

At the head of the table sat Zeus, and next to him sat his brothers, Poseidon and Hades. Then on each side of the table sat more powerful gods: Athena, Ares, Artemis, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Hermes, and Hera.

All the gods whispered to one another, anticipating the reason they were called together. Then the whispers ceased when Zeus' voiced carried itself to all of their ears,"Let The Fates speak."

Silence echoed throughout the room.

The Fates spoke as if they were one being, never missing a beat after one spoke.

"Do you feel our powers wavering?" Clotho questioned; silence lingered.

"The mortals are losing their faith," Lachesis finished.

"How is that even possible," the young god Apollo spoke,"Why would they stop," he spoke sadly, knowing what they said was the truth. Artemis put her hand on her brothers shoulder and asked,"If this is true, how do we stop it?"

The Fates began to speak one after the other.

"We have been researching for answers," Clotho spoke first

"We were curious about the Greek gods' fate," then Atropos

"We found an ancient prophecy, one that you should all here," finally Lachesis.

The gods stayed silent, waiting for The Fates to continue speaking. Before anyone could tell them to go on, they began to speak in unison.

"Descendant of The Fates, protected by wisdom and fire, children of the gods must come together, changing fate will save Olympus."

"Wisdom," Athena spoke quietly,"and fire," she glanced at Ares, whose face looked as puzzled as her feelings.

Before the gods could voice their opinion, Clotho spoke,"We will always have power in this world."

Lachesis started,"But there will be a time where we'll have to stay in our domain."

The last thing Atropos said barreled through the gods,"In the future, the mortals will no longer welcome us."

The Greek gods all sat quietly until Hermes raised his hand, like he needed permission to speak,"This 'descendant of The Fates' seems important. Who will it be?"

"We will know."

"Of course The Fates will know, but how long will we have to wait?" Hades raised his voice. The Fates simply smiled, and before Hades fed the three sisters to his pet dog, Zeus spoke.

"We are immortals. We have all the time in the world to wait."
