When I awoke that morning I expected the sun to be shining but it was just a cloudy cold day. I sat up in my bed, stretching out my arms and my back. I looked over at a table to see a beautiful black dress, a new one from yesterday's. I got out of my bed and stripped off my night gown, putting my undergarments on then attempting to get my new dress on. I had trouble and just as I was going to give up there was a knock on my door and the elderly woman walked in. "Oh good morning dear! Let me help you with that." I turned and nodded as she tied up my dress and guided me to a chair so that she could brush and rebraid my hair. "I've been told that the King summons you to the Godswood at noon." My brows raised, my face forming into one of confusion, without even thinking I blurted out "Why?" with a slight attitude but then I quickly covered my mouth with my hand and apologized. The woman laughed as she braided my hair. "My lady, I think the king has taken a liking to you. It's none of my business but beware, things like that don't go well here in Winterfell. It's best to spend your stay away from any nonsense and be on your way." All I could do was nod my head in agreement but I knew I wasn't going to listen to her as I grew curious. She knew as well that I was not going to listen to her so she let out a sigh.
It was now noon and the guards that the king appointed to watch me now led me to the Godswood. Once we arrived I saw Jon standing there and the guards walked off as he nodded to them. I took a deep breath as he approached me and signaled for us to start walking. As I walked next to him my arm brushed against his fluffy wolf fur cloak and for some reason I felt so little. Never would I have though I'd be here, walking alongside the King in the North, dressed in a lady's clothing. It felt as if this was a dream that would soon be over once I opened my eyes.
Before I could continue thinking and rambling on in my mind he spoke, breaking the silence "I'm sure you were wondering why I requested you here..." I nodded at I was very curious. "Yes my lord." I answered softly with a low voice. "I don't mean to sound rude but you don't seem very Northern to me my lady." He questioned with an awkward smile as we walked. I let out a sigh as I smiled, "How do you mean my lord?" He stopped walking and turned to face me as I stopped as well. "Well you call my 'my lord' as a highborn lady would. Northern farmers say 'm'lord' and well you just have a very Southern feel to you." He said, his dark brown eyes staring down at my hands which were fiddling with my gloves. Jon realizing maybe he was being too intrusive he shook his head at himself and furred his thick brows. "I'm sorry I don't mean to make assumptions." I smiled as it was strange to hear a king apologize for being curious so I looked up at him, really getting to see the details of his face. His stubble, his stress lines, his scars... he was so handsome. "No it's alright my lord, I was born in Dorne as a lady but I-I was taken by slavers at a young age and escaped, thank the gods. Somehow I made it up North and I've been a farm girl ever since. I love the North and I feel more at home here than I have ever felt in Dorne." I said smiling, definitely oversharing but I felt comfortable enough around him at this point. He was just so easy to talk to and he was unlike anyone I had ever met. "Ah, I knew it! You're too beautiful to be a northern born farmer." He said laughing, he was becoming more comfortable with me which made me laugh with him, my cheeks blushing. "Well thank you my lord." I said bowing my head with a smile, then he placed his hand on mine, stopping me from fiddling with my gloves. "You don't have to call me lord. You can call me Jon." He said smiling, his curly dark hair being blown into his face by the wind, causing him to squint a bit.
I nodded as I shivered feeling his hand on mine, my eyes darted back and forth from my hands to his face. "Alright... Jon." I said with a smile as our eyes locked with each others. My body shaking nervously as I noticed Jon leaning in closer. My heart pounded as I listening to his heavy breathing getting closer. All of a sudden a maester approached calling for Jon and in that second our private moment ended immediately. His hand quickly pulling away from mine as he turned to walk up to the maester. They begin talking and walk away together towards the middle of Winterfell, Jon quickly looking back as if to apologize for the moment being cut short.
I stood there for a few minutes trying to understand what just happened. I then heard the clanking of armor as the guards Jon had watch me came to take me back to my chambers. The whole walk back I played what happened over and over in my mind, trying to see if I was just imagining things but I concluded I wasn't and I wish it had not gotten interrupted...
