First things first: This game has risk, like most things involving talking to dead people do. Don't do dumb things

How To Play:

Materials: 1 "Phone Booth" A closed space. Closets do nicely.

1 paper cup

1 shoebox

1 length of thread. Two to four feet recommended.

1 needle

A pair of scissors

1 power object. The object should have a connection to the person that you want to speak to

1 sheet of paper

1 ink pen. Pencil is not acceptable

A flat surface on which to write.

How to call: Begin before you go to bed. The hour itself doesn't matter, as long as your day is essentially over. Keep the lights on, but turn off all other electronics: Cellphones, televisions, computers, etc. Enter your "phone booth" Wait. At some point, you'll get a feeling that you should start. (If you don't get the feeling within an hour, try again another night. If you don't get the feeling for multiple nights in a row, take a break for a few nights.) Take out your sheet of paper and pen. Begin writing a letter addressed to the person you want to call. Explain in the letter why that person should call you. Do not cross anything out while writing, and don't correct any mistakes. Don't overthink it. Just write. When you are done, take the thread and tie one end of it to the power object. Using the needle, thread the other end through the bottom of the paper cup. Remove the needle and tie off the thread. This will be your handset and telephone wire. Pick up the cup and read your letter into it. Read it sincerely, mistakes and all. Place your letter and power object in the shoebox with the wire leading out of it. Close the lip of the box, but don't seal it. Put the box on the floor of the booth. Leave the paper cup standing on top of the shoebox. Set the scissors down next to it. Go to sleep in your bed normally.

Getting a call: The "ring" will come in the form of a dream of the person trying to call you. It might be that night or a night shortly afterward. You will wake up from the dream, and know that the telephone is ready to be answered. Get out of bed and go to the booth. Do not turn on the light. Do not speak. Do not proceed if the shoebox is open or the paper cup is knocked over. If you find either of these things close the shoebox and snap the string with your fingers. If you can't break it use the scissors. If the phone is undisturbed, you may proceed. Get in the booth and close the door. Sit on the floor and press the paper cup to your ear. Cover your other ear with your hand and listen. Really listen. Keep movement to a minimum, try not to make any noise, and don't touch the shoebox. Do not speak, even if you are asked questions or are ordered to say something.

Ending the Call: When the call has finished, or if you want to hang up, hold the shoebox lid firmly closed with one hand and pull on the thread with the other until it snaps. If you can't snap it with your hand, use the scissors. Do NOT allow the shoebox to open. Remove the shoebox to a safe location and don't use it for a while. DO NOT LET THE SHOEBOX OPEN. Don't put the cup to your ear ever again. I recommend burning the cup. (or putting it to someone elses ear to have them go inasne and instatly die)

Additional Notes: Do not write in doubt. Writing in doubt will result in dialing a wrong  number. Do not prepare the cup in advance. Write the letter, then make the cup. If the phone doesn't "ring" within four nights, it is possible whoever you wanted to call does not want to speak to you. You may replay the game to make contact with another person, but not if you successfully spoke to someone. Do not play the game too often
