Leliana's POV

"MOM!!!!" I call to my mother so that she knows I'm ready to go.

"I'm coming! Will you be patient?!" My mother shouts back, a bit annoyed.

At this point I am just as annoyed.

"At this rate I'm going to be late!"

Yep, I am definitely annoyed.

Today would be my first day attending a school by the name of Haven High, it is well known for its prestigious Art and Music students and therefore the perfect new beginning I need...

Today is a Friday and instead of letting me settle in for the weekend, I was told it would be best to dive right into school.

On a FRIDAY!

Another reason for me to be annoyed.

My mother is an extremely busy person who barely has any time for herself but when it comes to helping others, she will drop everything she's busy with to help them, and to top it all off, she has an enormous amount of patience. I guess the patience came at a cost, when she had me; her life changed just like mine has in the last year.

I give up my standing position by the stairs leading to her room- shouting for her to hurry is clearly not doing me any favors- and walk into the living room, stopping in front of the mirror positioned against the silver painted wall and stare at my reflection.

Unlike my mother, I have long- now blonde- hair and big ocean blue eyes with the start of freckles on my nose, barely visible to the naked eye, a slight tan from many years of living by the sea.

She has copper blonde hair with beautiful sky blue eyes, but no freckles. Instead she has a few beauty spots scattered across her face making her olive-toned skin stand out even more.

My inspection is cut short when my over-excited yet nervous mother comes running down the stairs, grabbing her purse and calling for me to go climb into the car.

The ride to school consisted of a nervous me and a bubbling, talkative her...

"Just call if anything happens, okay?" I know her too well and she's always worrying about me, she needs to focus on that interview today instead so I reply with a "Relax mom, I'll be fine, promise."

She would be attending a very important interview for a new job since we moved and therefore prepared herself so that she would look absolutely stunning. No wonder she took so long.

On arrival to school, my mother rushes me out with me almost ending up face first on the pavement; luckily I have brilliant reflexes and catch myself. I watch as she drives off and slowly turn to face my doom.... Yep, High School.

I stare in horror and hope that this one is different from the one back home in California...

I watch as person after person walk through the big green gates all happy to see each other. I take a deep breath and take a step forward
