(Second Person)
Once a week on you opened two hours earlier to finish off the last of your old stock and unpack the new. Your business wasn't big enough to receive monthly or even weekly deliveries, so it was your job to do the shopping Sunday evening after closing.
It was 3 A.M when you saw him again, only a few days since you first met. And after your last conversation the sight of him dredged up mountains of deep seated embarrassment.
In reality, it probably wasn't that awkward to say that you 'hoped he noticed you more in the future', he probably didn't take it in a weird way--him clearly being younger than you are. But it felt weird and you just couldn't shake the memory out of your head.
There was a banging, clattering sound on the roof top, followed by a loud 'woop'.
"You're open this early?!"
Before you could even begin to guess who it was, the bright orange knucklehead ninja dropped right in front of you onto the front seat of your stall. His hands slammed onto the counter, "Two please, one chocolate and one cheese!"
"Right away, sir!" Your dad commanded. Firing up the deep fryer and donning his apron. You gawked for a bit. Was it common here for ninjas to just fall from the roof tops?
"Long time no see! It was Azuki right, tell me you remember me too, yeah?" Naruto leaned forward in his seat and gave a closed eye grin, coercing you into smiling back.
"I do, Naruto right?" you brushed a hand ungracefully behind your ear to tuck your hair back.
"Yeah!" Naruto beamed, very apparently happy you still remembered his name.
Conversation stalled as he watched you prepare the fillings. What was normally a tedious process was a snap for you with your experienced hands, and watching Naruto's captivated expression as your dashed around with the utensils was fun.
"Man, I can't even make cup ramen that fast.." He was quiet, not taking his eyes off of your work.
Your father who was finished with the dough shapes broke out in a loud belly laugh. "She's really something, eh Naruto?"
As it turns out, Naruto was on his way to the gates of Konoha for a mission. Ninjas required to get up early would find scant options for breakfast if they didn't cook for themselves. So it became a habit for him to drop by in the most mornings whenever he had missions to grab a meal to go.
It became so often, you had memorized his usual orders and schedule. Always the same in the morning, cheese for breakfast and a chocolate to go for when he got hungry on the road. You'd pack it carefully with extra napkins in a brown paper bag and set it to the side just in time for him to dive off the rooftop onto your stools.
