Ok, I know what you all are thinking. This is DEFINITELY going to be a she met him and they fall in love story. Well, it's not. It's way more!

"Mom, do I have to?"

Mom looks at me with an eyebrow raised. I gulp. That look is menacing!

"Darling, we moved to Seattle to escape Detroit! There is nothing left for us there. Now, we have a chance to make a new life. We should take it," she says, putting her hands on my shoulders. She continues, "And that means you are going to a new school."

I sigh. I don't want to. School was so hard for me in Detroit, how is not going to be hard here too?

"Berk Academy is a good school, Astrid. Make friends, and have fun!" She kisses my forhead and ushers me out of the apartment.

I walk out of the building and walk over to the school. My mom couldn't afford the bus, so now I have to walk. Well, it is just a thirty minute walk, this is going to be fun! *sarcasm*

I finally arrive at Berk Academy to see billions of people walking around. Maybe mom is right. Maybe Berk Academy is nice. But I don't want to risk it. I put up my walls, and looked down. I hug my grey jacket that I'm wearing closer to me.

I arrive at the Registrar's Office. This is where mom told me to get my schedule for classes and my books (I'll figure out how to carry them later, I didn't bring a backpack nor do I own one). This is also where I get my school ID which I can use to get food in the cafeteria without paying. But by the end of the week, Mom'll have to pay for the food.

"Hello, dear! I'm Miss Fitzherbert, but please just call me Rapunzel. People get a kick out of calling me 'Miss Fitzherbert'," A woman with short chocolate brown hair says.

"Oh, umm, okay," I say slowly.

"So what is your name?" she asks, leaning closer to the glass window that seperates me and her.

"Astrid. Astrid Hofferson," I say blankly.

"Ah, the new student," Miss - eh, Rapunzel says, clapping her hands.

She dives under her desk - literally, she dives under her desk - and pulls out a small chest, and a Jansport backback with a nice design. It looks like the scales of a Deadly Nadder. Dragons is my thing.

"Okay, since your mother told me you don't have a backpack, I bought one for you. Do you like it?" Rapunzel asks.

"Yeah, I love it. The design is from my favorite dragon. The Deadly Nadder," I shrug.

"Well, glad you do," she hands me the backpack. It's full already.

There are eight big notebooks inside. Each one is labeled Science, History, Mathematics, Language, Reading, Assignments, Arts, and Extra Notbook. There is also a small pencil case inside with a lot of pens in it. There are glitter pens, colored pens, black My Gel pens, and red My Gel pens. I think I know what to use the Extra Notebook for.

"And here is your schedule. Classes start at eight, so don't be late. Oh, wait...that ryhmes!" Rapunzel giggles and I smile a bit.

I say 'goodbye' and walk away. Maybe Berk Academy is nice.

Suddenly, someone bumped my shoulder hard. I fell to the ground and only saw a whiff of auburn hair turn around the corner.

I groan, Berk Academy is bad. It is so very bad.

"Oh hey, let me help you," a girl with blonde hair sees me and helps me up.

"Thanks," I whisper, not meeting her eyes.

"No problem-o! I'm Ruffnut, by the way," she says.

"Astrid," I say.

"Oh, you're the new person, want to get a smoothie?" Ruffnut says.

"Why do I get a feeling we aren't going to drink it?" I ask.

"Well, that is because we are dumping it on my twin brother, Tuffnut!" She says cheerily.

Wait twin? Tuffnut? Ruffnut? Woah....

After Tuffnut practically chased us, we are resting on a tree.

"Oh Gods! It is almost eight!" I say, looking at my cheap watch.

"What is your first class?" Ruffnut asks coolly.

"Reading," I say.

"Can I see your schedule?" She asks.

"Yeah," I say, giving her my schedule.

"Oh cool! We have every class together!" She exclaims.

"Great!" I say and put on my backpack. She gets her own backpack and we speed off to class.

It's lunch and Ruffnut and I are sitting at the corner of the caferteria. I take a bite from my hashbrown and drink some of the Ube flavored smoothie. I look around to see a familiar head of hair.

"Who's that?" I ask Ruffnut.

She looks at the direction I'm looking at and scowls. "That is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. He's a big jerk, you know that?"

"He's the one that pushed me down the hallway," I say. He sees me and smirks. He winks at me.

"Please do not tell me you have a crush on that guy," she says disgustingly.

"Oh trust me," I grit my teeth, "I hate him."
