Izuku woke up groggily the following morning. He was still tired from the events that had only taken place last night. He was trying to open his tired eyes, the light seeping through the curtains was not helping his endeavour. As he woke up, he slowly recalled last nights events. He went on a walk with Katsuki, saw something he didn't want to remember, and became the temporary chew toy of an unknown beast. It was then he remembered that talk he had with that man, what was his name again? He would remember in a bit. But what he did remember was the word, werewolf. That's what that thing was apparently, and it was now what he was. Izuku was small and very foreign to the myth of werewolves. He had heard the word thrown around every now and then, but never knew what it meant or what it even was. Now he had a mental image, an image he'd rather not have.

Izuku sat up in his bed, rubbing his eyes, he needed to start the day. Izuku got up and immediately realised that his mum didn't know if he was alright, she hadn't seen him awake since last evening. That was something he had to do, he had to make sure his mother knew he was alright. Izuku may not be very smart in some areas, but he knows that his mother does worry a lot and is a very emotional woman. He practically jumped out of his bed, and walked toward the door. He opened it, closing it behind him, and walked to the kitchen. He could smell food being prepared, that meant his mother was already up and cooking breakfast.

He walked out of the hallway, looking over to the kitchen area. Like he thought, Inko was working hard in the kitchen. "Morning mummy" he said, trying to get her attention. Inko quickly turned to the new sound in the relatively silent apartment, to see her son, standing by the hallway. She was silent for a moment, before springing back to life, engulfing her son in a vice like grip that would put heavy duty compactors to shame. "My baby Izuku, you're alright! I was so worried about you!" She exclaimed, somehow outdoing her already impressive grip on the boy. Said boy was too surprised to even formulate words, his inability to breathe wasn't helping, but he managed to get a few strangled gargles out.

Hearing this, Inko immediately let her suffocating son go. She was worried about him yes, but compressing his airways wasn't going to help her cause. Izuku relished in the feeling of being able to breath again. Going, what felt like hours to the poor boy without oxygen was, in a word, torturous. He quickly caught his breath and peered up to see his mum with a worried expression. He didn't feel like he could talk at the moment, so he gave her a thumbs up, to show her he was fine. Inko sighed in relief, "Izuku honey, I'm so sorry. I was so worried about you and what happened. Even with your new healing quirk". Izuku gave her a confused look before remembering that meeting with the man.

He said his name was Derek Hale, if he remembered correctly. He remembered what he talked about with him being a werewolf now, and how he had healed the wound he had gotten. But Izuku knew that having a strange man in his room, wasn't a good thing to tell his mum, he would have to feign ignorance. He continued his confused expression, letting his mother continue.

"Oh, that's right, you blacked out before it happened. Well, you have your quirk now, that doctor was wrong. It's a healing quirk from what Mitsuki says". Izuku allowed himself to perk up in excitement. Suddenly realising that he had a quirk now, he could be a hero. This excitement brought something else with it. Izuku's eyes had changed from an emerald, to a golden hue. Inko was surprised at this change, she didn't know what it meant. Was it good? Was it bad? She didn't know. "Um, Izuku. Your eyes" she said, a hint of worry seeping out. Izuku's golden eyes faded back to normal, as he gave his mother a look of genuine confusion. "What do you mean, mummy?" He asked. "Your eyes were gold, do you have any idea what it means" she responded with a little worry. Izuku shook his head, "no", he actually didn't know.

At that moment, the pair heard knocking coming from the door. Inko got up and walked to said door, "who could that be" she mumble under her breath before opening the door. When she did, she saw a young man with black hair, green eyes and wearing a leather jacket, jeans and leather boots. Her immediate thought was Yakuza, but seeing his friendly smile calmed her down a little. "How can I help you?" She asked the stranger. Izuku peered around his mum to look at the person she was talking to. It was Derek, he was here like he said he would. "Hello ma'am, my name is Derek Hale" he said, obviously not used to being polite, "and as for your question, I've come here to talk to you about your son" he continued with slight nervousness. "What about Izuku?" She asked in return, "it's about what happened to him last night". "Well please come in" she moved to a side, letting her guest enter. He did so and follow her to the living room area. She sat down in an arm chair, while he sat down on a perpendicular sofa. Izuku still hadn't moved from his spot, but seeing the two adults sit down, he walked away knowing they were going to be talking about adult stuff. The adults let this happen as they started their conversation, "why did you want to talk about last night? Are you police?"
"No, I'm not. I was there to see what happened. I would have intervened if I didn't see that other boy scare off the thing."
"Well it's in the past now, so why bring it up?"
"You see ma'am, I happen to know what that thing was, but I'm afraid you won't believe me."
"Try me"
"It was a werewolf" he was right, she didn't believe him, not one bit. Werewolves don't exist. Their just myths, stories.
"A werewolf?" She said raising her eyebrow.
"Yes, I told you you wouldn't believe me. But that doesn't matter. All I'm going to say is that, your son has received abilities from this encounter. Abilities he will have a hard time to control. I would know, I'm a werewolf as well"
Inko wanted to laugh at this man's ridiculousness, he couldn't be serious yet he was acting like he was. He was either the world's best actor. Or he was actually telling the truth. The thought crossed her mind. Quirks came out of nowhere and are still not fully understood. Just over a century ago, the idea of quirks would have also seemed ridiculous. Was it that much of a stretch that maybe werewolves existed too.

"It seems you're starting to think it may not be so ridiculous".
"If it was true, and Izuku is now a werewolf. What would that mean?"
"It means he'll be the youngest werewolf to have been bitten. Children of his age usually don't survive the bite. He must have a strong will to survive something like that" Inko chuckled slightly, she wouldn't call it a strong will, more like stubbornness.
"That he does. But if you knew children die from it, why didn't you stop the werewolf?"
Derek looked down in disappointment, she was right after all.
"I was too slow to react, but even if I did try, I doubt I would have been able to stop it."
"Why?"
"Because, it was much stronger than myself. It was a type of werewolf called an alpha, while I'm only a beta. On a normal day, an alpha could beat me easily. But that particular night was a full moon. The full moon makes us stronger, but it comes with a side effect. It makes us savage and turns us into bloodthirsty monsters that will try to kill anything with a heartbeat. Because of this reason, I was holding back the change which makes me weaker than I usually am, when the alpha was letting the full moon take full effect. Even if I had tried, I probably wouldn't have been able to save your son. I guess he was lucky to have that friend"
Inko had been listening intently at Derek's explanation. The more she listened, the more she started to believe. She could tell this man wasn't lying, and what he was talking about, it was to specific to be made up.
"He was lucky to have Katsuki with him. But I'm still concerned. Everything that you said, will it ally to Izuku?"
"I'm afraid it does"
"Is that why you're here then, to help him"
"It is, Izuku will go through a lot of changes. Luckily for him, I was born a werewolf and have gone through the same changes as he will. He needs to learn to control himself, his emotions and his shifts. The sooner the better."
Inko nodded in agreement. "I agree, so when will you start?"
"As soon as I can. The more time he has practicing, the better. I've got one month until the next full moon, and I need to train him as much as possible. I'll be updating you regularly of course, and will answer any questions you may have"
Inko smiled, "thank you Mr Hale, I'm glad you want to help him. But if I may, why do you want to help him?"
"I don't know really. I guess I'be seen this so many times that I've grown a soft spot for people like Izuku. Plus, if it got out that he's a werewolf, it puts everyone like me army risk. And there's people like me I care about"
Inko nodded, "I understand, if you can start as soon as possible, then how about tomorrow. A lot of things have happened in the last few hours. I just need a break from all the stress. I think Izuku does too"
Derek nodded back, "makes sense", he grabbed a nearby piece of paper and a pen, "can I?", Inko nodded. Derek then wrote something down and handed the paper to Inko, "that's my number, so I can update you on everything that is happening, as well as organise times to help
Izuku. Be sure to ask any questions you want to ask". With that he began to make his leave, "I'll see you later Mrs..." she had suddenly realised that she hadn't introduced herself. She mentally scolded herself for such a mistake "Midoriya, Inko Midoriya" she responded. Derek nodded and walked out the door closing behind him.

Izuku wanted to leave the conversation to the two adults. But realised he actually had enhanced hearing. He tried to block out the sound, but it was no good, he had heard everything. He was scared at what he had heard, but was glad someone like Derek was going to help him. Something told him this wouldn't be easy.

[Author's notes]
And that's another chapter done. Normally I have a lot more to say, but today is not one of those days.

All I'll say is that, I'll be releasing a new chapter every other day. And I'll be taking turns on which fanfic I update for today the foreseeable future.

That's all I got time for today. Peace.
