Loki woke up to the sound of consistent beeping. He slowly opened his eyes and was surprised at what he saw.
He was wearing a breathing mask, he had an IV drip and blood donation connected to his arm, and had a heart monitor connected to him.
Wait what? He thought he was fine.
"Stark?"
No answer.
Loki rubbed his face. He felt tired, but not as tired as he was before.
"Hey."
Loki jumped, letting out a small grunt.
He recollected himself, and said, "h-hello Stark."Tony was standing in his doorway, smirking.
"How long was I asleep?"
"Three days. You must've been really tired."
Loki touched the breathing mask on his face. "What-why'd you put this on me?"
"You almost stopped breathing in your sleep. I took precautions."
"What?"
Loki heard from out in the hallway a voice saying, "oh is he awake?"
Tony answered it. "Yeah."
"Oh good." The voice responded.
Tony stepped out of the doorway and next to Loki, and Bruce Banner stepped into the room.
Loki's eyes widened and he started hyperventilating.
Bruce looked confused.
Loki remembered when he was literally beaten into the ground by the hulk.
He looked terrified.
"No Wait, Loki calm down Bruce isn't gonna hurt you!"
"Wha- you, Stark? W-why is he here?"
"He was helping me keep you alive! Calm down, will you?"
Loki clutched his chest and started wheezing. He was shaking, his eyes got really wide, and tears escaped his eyes. The heartbeat monitor got faster.
Bruce looked extremely worried. "Wait, what's happening? He's-"
"He's having a panic attack." Tony cut Bruce off. "I know, I've had one before. Look, I think Loki's fine."
Tony leaned onto the bed next to Loki and wiped his face with his sleeve. Tony then patted Loki's back.
Loki grabbed Tony's arm and started sobbing into it.
Tony rubbed Loki's head and said, "Loki, please calm down."
Loki groaned through his sobs. It almost sound like he was struggling to breath, though he had a breathing mask on.Tony pulled his arm away from Loki who then just curled up into a ball, crossing his arms and tightly gripping them.
He dug his fingernails into his skin, piercing it. Blood dripped down his arm and stained his bed.
Tony yelled, "NONONO LOKI STOP!" Tony grabbed his arms and pulled them away from each other. Loki kept sobbing.
Bruce ran to get a rag or a paper towel or something.
Tony easily held Loki's arms out, but he was more worried about hurting Loki.
Bruce came back with a wad of paper towels and pressed them against Loki's arms.
Loki tried to object, but he was just too weak to do anything significant.
Tony yelled, "LOKI LISTEN." Loki stopped for a second and looked up. "Don't hurt yourself! I don't know why you're doing it, but please stop. I'm gonna find a way to get you back to normal, but for now calm down!"
Loki went limp in Tony's grip and sniffed. He mumbled,"I'm sorry Stark."
Tony hesitated. "Loki just tell me you won't do it again."
Loki weakly nodded. Tony let go and Loki fell onto the bed.
Loki moaned painfully yet quietly as he shifted back onto the pillow. He leaned back into it and starred at the ceiling, listening to the sound of his heartbeat.
Loki sighed.
He didn't want to be saved. Yet here he was, still being kept alive.
He had one question, though. Why?
