Dominic's body covers mine, protecting me from the bullets. The sound of gunshots ring out around us and I'm frozen in fear.

I search frantically to find Bianca, to make sure she's somewhere safe. When my eyes land on her, she is huddled under the table with the man she was dancing with, Dominic's friend. Dominic fires round after round of bullets, the gunshots making my ears ring.

Finally, after what feels like forever, the shots stop and everything is silent, except for the sound of our heavy breathes in the air.

"Xavier," the man holding Bianca looks to Dominic, "is everyone okay?"

"I don't know man."

Xavier leaves Bianca, gun raised and ready, and checks the bodies around us. "Ten or so alive, injured badly. Fuckers can't aim for shit."

I feel something wet and warm on my leg. Looking down, I see that it's blood. "Oh my god, you're bleeding!" I panic, trying to get him to sit up so I can check his leg out.

Dominic looks down, "Guess I am. Damnit, these are new fucking jeans! They're ruined!" he rolls his eyes. I just stare at him in amazement. How in the hell is he so calm?! He's acting like he's completely used to being shot!

Dominic suddenly grows serious, "Okay this is what is going to happen ladies," he looks at me and Bianca for a moment, "you are going to come with me." His demanding tone left no room for discussion. I, although knowing I shouldn't, felt safe in his presence. I know it's stupid and the fact that he took being shot so nonchalantly should make me feel threatened, but there is just something about how he covered my body with his, protecting me, that made me have a certain level of trust in him.

"Xav, you know what to do." Dominic gives Xavier a pointed look, making him nod in understanding to whatever Dominic was saying with his eyes. "Alright let's get the hell out of here before the police show."

Hearing that, the logical part of me spoke up, "Wait," he looks to me, "we don't know you. How do we know we can trust you?"

He smirks, a sexy, devilish smirk, "You don't, but you're going to have to, tesoro. Now get in the fucking car."

We reluctantly agree and step in the car.

After the long drive, we pull into the driveway of a huge mansion on the outskirts of town. I gawk in awe at the beauty of it. It's made of brick with probably three so chimneys, balconies and glass doors adorned the place, and to top it all off, it had a huge inground pool in front of it. "Ho-ly shit." I murmur, my eyes still glued to the mansion.

Dominic and Xavier snicker at my obvious amazement of the house before me. I look over to Bianca to find her in much the same condition as I am. Through the awestruck frenzy, I mouth to her 'What the actual fuck' to which she replies with a nod in agreement.

We are knocked out of our amazement by Dominic speaking, "Okay, get your jaws off the ground. Let's go over rules shall we." His obvious Italian accent sends jolts to my veins. The way he speaks, with so much authority sends tremors through my body.

Still, we stare at him blankly, "Rules?" I ask in confusion. What the fuck does he mean by rules?

He look at me like it's the most obvious thing in the world. "Yes rules." he counts them off on his fingers as he goes, his whiskey eyes staring into mine. "Number one, always show me respect. Number two, never lie to me, I absolutely hate liars. Number three, obey me. Lastly, number four, don't talk back to me. Simple. Got it?" He raises an eyebrow expectantly, waiting for me to answer.

I lifted an eyebrow, " What happens if we break these rules?" I question with a smirk.

However my smirk is quickly wiped off when he answers, "You will get punished, I don't know about your friend, but you're mine now." He smirks at my dumbstruck, gaping face.

Did he just claim me?!

I narrow my eyes at him, "Respect goes both ways, Dominic. To get my respect, you have to earn it. Also, you can't just claim me, I'm not a fucking object."

"I never said you were an object, just that you were mine, and you broke one of the rules already. I thought I said no talking back?" He take a threatening step toward me, "Do you want to be punished?"

Why does the thought of this incredibly sexy man punishing me kind of hot?! God, I'm demented! I glare at him, trying to ignore the sudden ache I feel down bellow.

"No." Such a lie.

"Good, now let's head in." He replies, but something in the way he looked at me told me he might not have believed me. He put a hand on my back, leading me to the house as Bianca and Xavier follow behind us. He leans in and whispers, "You broke another rule. No lying. What am I going to do with you, mia bella."

Heat floods my cheeks as I realize what he is talking about. He knew I was lying. This is so embarrassing!

We go into the house and Dominic takes me up to his room as Xavier takes Bianca to his.

He hands me a black tee-shirt, gesturing to the bathroom and left me to clean up and change into it. I hop in the shower and wash my body with his body wash, which smelt like fresh cedar - such a manly smell.

It's weird I've never truly felt safe since before that night..... Well, not until now. He is a sense of security and danger all rolled into one deliciously handsome man. Not even with my ex of two years did I ever feel this safe, ever.

After I change into the shirt that basically swallowed me whole, I step out to see Dominic in sweats and only sweats. Damn those abs! Don't even get me started on the tattoos! He gets into the bed and pats the space beside him, silently telling me to get in.

Slowly, I walk over to the bed and lay down on the edge. He makes an exasperated noise and pulls me into him, letting me feel the hard plains of his chest pressing into my back. He drapes a heavily tattooed arm across my torso, snuggling into me. "Goodnight, tesoro."

"Goodnight, Dominic."

With his warmth wrapped around me I fall asleep.
