It was a long day at work. With the older people questioning every move I made, Freddy breathing down my neck, when he wasn't leering at my ass, and the group of jocks that always came in from the local college after classes, it was stressful. They ogled me like I was a fresh cut piece of meat and they were desperate, starved lions.
A regular there, Annie, was really the only highlight of the night. She was an older lady with startling white hair laced with bright pink and blue peek-a-boos, always red lipped, and had a mouth that would make a sailor blush. She was like a surrogate mother to me, always there and would put Freddy in his place for starring at my ass or down my cleavage when I couldn't and she would even pay for meals, even when I told her I was fine, and we would always spend my lunchbreak talking and laughing.
She lost her husband in a car accident and she never conceived a child so I suppose I was all she had as well.
We would talk about things spanning from the weather to our pasts. She didn't know exactly what happened, but she knew about me losing my parents, and she would always talk about her deceased husband like he was still alive, still kicking, and it would break my heart because I knew she missed the hell out of him and I couldn't do anything to make that pain lessen.
She was what got me through working every single day.
I had the driver stop by my place, after getting the clear from Dominic of course, to get Bianca and I some clothes. Apparently the big bad boss said to hurry up and just grab the essentials and he would send more men tomorrow because we were moving in with him I guess.Whatever.
I grabbed underwear, jeans and t-shirts for both me and Bianca, our toothbrushes and hair brushes along with my laptop and chargers and I grabbed tampons as well.
It was quiet on the way to the house, not awkward or anything, just quiet. Puling up, I walked into the house and right past the bitch from earlier, Becca. The anger leftover from this morning came back times five. I matched her glare with one of my own and I swore I saw her flinch from the blunt force of it. I was also sure that if looks could kill, she would be six feet down with a whole between her eyes. The thought actually brought a smirk to my face.
It was official, I was psychotic.
I walked past her and into the mansion, taking the bags from the driver. I walked to Bianca and Xavier's room first and dropped off her things, then headed to me and Dom's room.
I walked in to an empty room and went straight to the bathroom. I grabbed an oversized shirt and underwear from the bag, leaving everything else there so I didn't just have to repack everything when he eventually sends me to a different room. I took a quick shower and threw on the shirt and underwear.
As I walk out, I see Dominic taking his boots off in the doorway. He looks up at me, his eyes darkening just a bit as they raked over me. I shivered slightly as I damn near felt his eyes on every part of my body.
God, what is happening to me?!
"How was work," he asked after a short time of us quietly staring at one another.
I groaned, not wanting to talk about it, but offered up "Fine," to appease him.
He raised an eyebrow, a smirk pulling at his lips, "Doesn't look like it was fine to me. What happened?"
And, for some reason unknown to me, I told him how my day went, "Well I got yelled at by an eighty year old woman," I started and he laughed.
"Wait, what? Why?"
"She didn't understand that it was a diner and not a bar and she wanted a whiskey. I told her no, but there was a bar two stores down. I believe her exact words were 'No one has any good whiskey anymore. What has our world come to? This is disrespect.'" We laughed and I continued with my day, "Anyways, I got ogled by a bunch of jocks and my boss," he visibly tensed, a scowl making its way onto his face, "Annoying as hell, but I'm used to it, I guess. And I talked to a regular, Annie, on my lunch break. She is like a mom to me," I smiled, "So yeah, that's pretty much it."
"Wow," he growled audibly, "I don't like the sound of that boss of yours, from this morning and what you just told me. He seems like a perv and I fucking hate how you're around him while he eyes you up like a piece of fucking meat."
I just shrugged. I did what I had to, put up with what I had to, to make ends meet. "Well beggars can't be choosers. I do what I have to."
"I can respect that, but you don't have to deal with that shit anymore, tesoro. You are mine to take care of now. Mine."
As much as I wanted to hate the words that were coming out of his mouth, a part of me, a part that craved his touch, liked the sound of that. Liked the sound of being his, his woman, his lover, being wrapped up in his arms while we lay in bed naked and sated. It made my thighs clench, a need making its way into my stomach. The thought of him claiming me, possessing and protecting me, it had me shivering with need.
I looked up at him, seeing pure sincerity in his eyes and a warm feeling came over me. Still he had to understand that I could take care of myself. "I have been supporting myself for years. I don't need help now. I know you want to help, but I don't need it," I said in a firm, but gentle voice.
He narrowed his eyes, obviously not liking what I was telling him and I rolled my eyes, but stop, remembering what he told me before he left.
Shit.
Realization spread over his face and his eyes sparkled with wicked thoughts and lord help me if I wasn't kind of wet, thinking of what he was going to do to me.
