After the altercation with Dee and Becca, I decided to go on my phone to make a call to Freddy's, the diner I worked at, to tell them I would be a bit late to my shift. I had picked up the Sunday shift a few weeks ago because I never had anything to do anyway and I didn't have to go to work until two in the afternoon and I worked until closing which was at eleven. Sunday through Friday.

I dialed the number and held it up to my ear, listening to the familiar ring. "Hello," the rough voice of my boss, Freddy came down the line. I was pretty sure he was a closet drunk and was always in a crabby mood. I never really liked him, he was always kind of creepy with the waitresses, but I needed the job, so I dealt with it as best as I could.

"Hey, Freddy, this is Arianna. I was just wanting to inform you that I might be an hour or two late today. Personal issues," I said in my polite, business-like voice, hoping he doesn't loose it and start yelling.

"I don't give a shit about your personal issues, I have a business to run," he practically yelled and I had to take the phone away from my ear so I didn't experience partial hearing loss, "You get you pretty ass down here on time or you're fired!"

The 'pretty ass' comment had me gagging, but I replied with a "Yes sir," on a sigh anyway. I hung up and looked up from where I was mindlessly gazing to meet Dominic's eyes.

"Who was that," he asked, motioning to my phone, "I think I saw you literally gagging."

"It was my boss. I have work today and I told him I might be late to work with all the shit going on here, but he was being anal about it. He is definitely a character."

"You can't go, Arianna."

I raised an eyebrow, "And why not?"

"Because the assholes that shot up the club are still out there!"

"What the hell does that have to do with me?"

"They saw you with us," he rubbed a hand down his face, "They could come after you."

"Well I need this job, no matter how sucky the boss is or who is out to get me, so what am I supposed to do?"

"You don't need the job. I can take care of you."

"I'm not yours to take care of," I said. He had known me for barley a day and he was acting like we had been in a relationship for years.

"The fuck you're not," he growled,

"I have known you for a day, Dominic. How the fuck are you going to say I'm yours when you don't even know me?"

"I just know, okay! I knew from the first time I saw you," he took a step towards me, "You. Are. Mine. Get it through you mind, Ari. Your thoughts, your feelings, your heart, your body. All of it is mine. And I will prove that to you over and over again until it is stuck in your head for good."

I was so taken aback by this. I had known this man for a day and he had already claimed me. His words were weirdly sweet though, not to mention hot as hell. I felt a flutter in my belly as he leaned in and pressed his lips softly to mine. It started out soft and gentle, like he was telling me I could trust him through it. Then as it progressed, it turned hard, possessive, the kind of kiss that would leave your lips tingling for hours after. It was deliciously bruising, punishing, and I couldn't get enough.

After a while he broke the kiss. I was panting and almost one hundred percent sure that I was going to have bruised lips for the rest of the night. I looked up at him to see him in much the same condition as I was, panting and looking at me with lustful eyes.

I cleared my throat, "Well as much as I love you going all Neanderthal male on me I have work at two and it is twelve-thirty now, so I have to go get ready."

"What did I-," I practically ran out of the room before he was able to finish.

After brushing out my hair, I didn't bother to change and walked out. When I got back out to the living room I noticed Dominic with some other guy. The man was tall, blonde haired and muscly with dark brown eyes. When I entered the room and they looked up from their conversation, Dominic strolled over to me.

"Hey Ari," he said in a husky voice that made me inwardly drool, "this is Cameron, he will be watching over you at the diner."

Cameron holds his hand out to me and I shake it, "Nice to meet you Cameron."

"You too, Arianna."

I nod at him and turn my attention to Dominic, "So I need, basically, a glorified babysitter now?" I was pretty sure I heard Cameron snicker behind me, but I was to focused on the man in front of me.

"Well if you would just stay here then you wouldn't need a glorified babysitter now would you."

I rolled my eyes at him, "Whatever," I said as he narrowed his eyes, "I'm going to be late. Later."

I went to turn towards the door when he grabbed me, "What did I say about eye rolling, mia bella," he whispers darkly in my ear, "It's disrespectful. You broke the rule again, so I think you need to be punished. Just wait until you get home tonight, babe." He pulled away and winks as he swats my ass just enough to sting a little but not enough to actually hurt.

I turned to Cameron to find him smirking with an amused glint in his eyes. I ignored him and walked out to the black SUV, hyperaware of the wetness in my underwear.
