“May I have this dance?”

“May I have this dance?”

“Yes sir, you may.” I giggle while Nick twirls me around in circles.

“I like your laugh.” he grins. “It is too adorable to be honest.”

“Thanks.”

We are interrupted halfway through the upbeat song by an ear-splitting sound made by the microphone. On the stage on the reception hall Tatum stood there with the microphone in his hand. He looks beyond nervous with his new wife under his arm. He also looks happy. Very happy.

“Good evening everyone. Rosie here and myself are very thankful for you being here to celebrate this wonderful day with us.” Tatum's voice is shaky as he speaks.

He takes a deep breath while Rosie rubs her hand up and down his arm soothingly. This was him down so he continues to speak. “Now that we are officially married we wanted to announce to you that Rosie is four months pregnant.”

Everybody — except Nick and I along with our parents — gasps in shock. There are no paparazzis around at the wedding, but I am sure that by tomorrow morning the whole world would know all about it. After a couple more minutes of talking, Tatum and Rosie step down off of the stage. They make their way to family members who congratulate then and hug them. Nick places both his hands on my shoulders, turning me to face him.

“Let us go somewhere quiet. I need to give you something.” he suggests when he offers his hand to hold. I stare at it for a bit before I slide my hand in his and the two of us head for the exit doors. Through the crowd we maneuver ourselves passed them as they danced to the music playing.

Marvin's Room plays in the background as Nick and I try to leave the room. We are stopped just before we get to the doors by Eric who looks drunk and disorderly.

“Hey... Where are you going?” he slurs.

“Are you drunk?” I stupidly ask even though it is so obviously that he is.

“Noooo...” he offers me a mischievously smile. “Where are you and Nick going? It is fun in here.”

I glance at Nick before I could answer Eric. I clear my throat and tell him — “We needed some fresh air. It is starting to get a little bit too crowded you know?”

Eric shrugs then his eyes widen when he stares at somebody behind me whom I suspect to be one of our parents. “Ah crap! I gotta go.”

“Eric wait, we are not done with this –  ” he is already mixed in the crowd before I can even finish my sentence. “ – conversation...”

“He is sixteen am I right?” Nick's voice pulls me back to reality.

“You would never guess.” I stare in the direction of the crowd where Eric in which disappeared into.

“He is one helluva character, is he not?” Nick takes grip of my hand once more. We continue our voyage outside of the room. I take the last glance back at the party going on behind us.

“Where exactly are we headed for?” I finally question once my surroundings have become less familiar. Nick pulls me in the left direction as we are in the common room outside if the hall we were just in. The common room is empty, there are only a couple people here; a young famous couple — with the guy looking very drunk while the girl tries to get him out of the building — and Jared Balmain with Ruth under his arm.

When she spots me — we have not seen each other much today — she waves at me with a transcendent grin on her lips. Jared also raises his hand, briefly getting Nick and I. Nick nods his head at them.

He leads me to a dark corridor and mumbles — “There is a staircase this way. Come on.”
