"W-WAIT..." I UTTERED as his words didn't sink in my mind properly.

"Okay then, go ahead, take your time." he said as he deliver a smile. This jerk is really capable of reading minds. Aish!

After a short moment of silence, I finally let a word out.

"You... want us to be in a same party?" I uttered — clarifying things.

Tumango lang s'ya kaya napatingin ako kay Carlaix. She just nods her head while smiling — saying that I should take this man's offer.

"Sige," napapikit na lamang ako at muling nagsalita, "I accept your offer."

Nagawi kong nanlaki ang mga mata nito at nagpakawala ng isang napakalapad na ngisi. Ngunit mabilis itong naglaho nang ipagpatuloy ko ang aking sinasabi.

"If you'll let Carlaix join too." I continued and I saw how Carlaix and Greyed eyebrows furrowed.

They're absolutely shocked.

I am grateful with Carlaix ever since day one. She gave me company without hesitation. She even let me take numerous opportunity to learn in this field. She trusted me more than I do, and we're on this together. Kaya kahit na gaano pa karaming perks ang matatanggap ko along with that freaking guy, ay hinding-hindi ko maipagpapalit si Carlaix. I can't imagine myself forsaking a person who's really worth to keep — and that's Carlaix.

I sighted Greyed having a puzzled look and trying to collect his thoughts so that he can find the right words to utter. Nang magkasalubong ang aming mga mata ay tinaasan ko lang ito ng kilay upang hanapan s'ya ng kasagutan.

Ewan ko rin ba sa lalaking ito at daig pa ang babaeng may buwanang dalaw kung umarte. His thoughts are really complex! Napakahirap n'yang basahin dahil napaka-careful at peculiar ng mga kinikilos at desisyon n'ya sa buhay.

"Uhm... if that's the case," he finally let out a word, but incomplete.

"Then?" I curiously asked.

"Then forget about the offer." He just smirked and turn his back.

"Son of a bitch." I furiously murmured while he walks away.

I know how painful it is for Carlaix, it was like, you're being unappreciated and unvalued.

After a while, ay nawala na rin sa paningin ko si Greyed. Nagsimula namang magsalita si Carlaix.

"Lhenin, ano ba? Okay lang naman ako e. Dapat tinanggap mo na 'yung offer ni Greyed!" She breaks the silence, "Once you did, a lot of cases and opportunity awaits you! Mas mabilis ka makaka-rank up! Mas mag-iimprove ka as a sleuth, and you'll even made it to the top!"

Napatingin ako kay Carlaix, nakangiti s'ya. Ngiting nagtatago kung ano ang tunay n'yang nararamdaman.

"No," I hardly stated — refusing her statements, "Hindi naman kawalan 'yang si Greyed. He's full of selfishness and full of pride. Morever, I have a feeling that he will just use me to lure the killers. So, no worries." I smiled.

"Okay, if that's for good then so be it." She said in a conceding tone and she smiled back.

After that moment, we headed back in our respective condo units to take a rest.
