Harry

"Harry, wake up! You're going to be late!" my mum yelled from downstairs, probably running around the house, getting ready for work.

I groaned, remembering it was a Monday and there was school.

I knew that today would be like every other day. If I saw Daisy, there would be no interaction. Maybe, at the move, a small smile or wave from across that hall, but that was all.

It was always like this. Being not so good friends with Daisy and Kurtis' group of friends, it was hard to talk to them. Kurtis always seemed to think that Daisy and I were more than just friends, which make him hate me.

Of course, he was wrong. We were nothing more than friends, although I wish we could be.

"I'm up, I'm up!" I yell back, rubbing my eyes.

It took me a few minutes to actually get up, and when I did, I noticed I was going to be late for school whether I rushed or not.

Taking my time, I showered, got dressed, then went down stairs and made breakfast. Mum had already left for work, so I had the house to my self.

I made pancakes because they're my favourite thing ever.

Once I finished, I looked at the time; 9:57AM.

I grabbed my phone off of the counter, proceeding to the fridge, taking a drink out of the milk carton then putting it back in.   I checked my phone for any messages I could have recieved, but didn't have any.

I slid on my shoes at the door, walking out and closing it behind me. I began my ever so boring walk to school, making it just in time for 2nd period.

"Dude, where were you first? Got a damn english project again, I'm starting to think she just hates our class,"

That was Collin. He had long hair matching mine, minus the fact that his hair was blonde. He's my best mate, we play soccer together.

"Slept in, didn't feel like I needed to rush or anything," I say, taking a bite out of the pizza I was eating for lunch. "What's it on?"

He groaned, dropping a book infront of me. "Frankenstein. You have to write an essay for her and make a whole presentation on it for the class"

It was my turn to groan. Reading wasn't something that I really enjoyed. I mean, if I got to pick the book and it wasn't something like Frankenstein I would enjoy it.I'd much rather just watch the movie or something of that sort.

Poetry books were more my thing, but that seemed kind of lame to people, so I say I hate reading.

I looked across the cafeteria, my eyes landing on a table filled with the football players and their girlfriends. One of those girlfriends being Daisy. We made breif eye contact, and all she did was smile when I gave her a wave.

Told you.

The bell rang and I left for class. Biology was next and as usual, I did not want to be there.

To my surprise, the day went by rather quickly. Although, afterwards I had soccer.

"You coming to practice?" Archie asked when he saw me at my locker at the end of the day.

"Yeah," I nodded, pulling out my gym bag from my locker. "Let's go"

On the walk to  the gym, I noticed Daisy and Kurtis at Daisy's locker, Kurtis leaning against the locker next to hers, talking to her.

"Why couldn't you hang yesterday?" I heard Kurtis as Daisy, accidentally eavesdropping.

"I went to the beach with a friend,"

I smiled. At least she refered to me as a friend.

"Which friend?"

I turned the corner of the hall after this, only hearing her response. "Harry"

I walked into the change room alongside Archie, taking a seat on the far side of a bench.

"Hey captain, where've you been? Haven't spoken to you in ages!" Marcus said, appearing from the other side of the changeroom.

"Yeah man, gotta catch up. I've been good, and you?"

"Good, good. I've been good aswell! Excited for the game on thursday,"

I nodded, agreeing with him. Games were fun, but also got a lot of the players nervous, so it was nice to hear him say he was excited rather than nervous for a change.

"Let's go on the field, yeah?" Archie called to us, walking out the gym door, out to the field.

Michael and Jeremy followed behind Marcus and I, carrying the bag of balls.

Soccer lasted until about 5PM, in which right after I showered, then walked straight home to take a nap. I made it only to the couch where I collapsed, completely exhausted.

My eyes shut and I was asleep in a matter of minutes.

Naps are the best
