My trainers dragged against the path as I reluctantly walked home from Autum Leaf Senior School. My whispy, pale blonde hair blew infront of my distant green eyes. I instinctively zipped up my grey, cotton jacket, and crossed my arms to provide little protection from frosty wind whipping at my red cheeks and chapped lips. I haven't slept in days. I couldn't. No one could, with the noise I have to live with. My nose was red and I had a sickening feeling in the bottom of my stomach. I turned the corner and entered Klemitine Drive. My street. With such little sleep, each step resulted in agony, my will for carrying on was thinning and the idea of collapsing into an endless sleep seemed started to seem more appealing. I walked through the street, the houses just as boring as the next. Well my house isn't boring. But it definitely isn't pleasant either. As I reached my house, my steps slowed even more. eyesand inhaled icy-cold air before opening them again and walking towards the threatening doors that seemed to mock me every time my pale emerald eyes glazed them. My shaking hand hovered over the door nob for a couple of second, of minutes, or hours, or even years. It just felt like forever. My pale hand twisted the doornob and pushed open the doors. That's when it hit me, the horrid smell of drugs and alcohol tickled my nostrils. And worse of all, the shouting, of my parents.

My name is Adelina Orui, and this is my life.
