[Jack]
No talk. She didn't say anything afterwards. I sighed. I think I did something wrong…
Now,we're back in North's workshop. Sandy and Bunny have left already. North was now in his office. While Tooth… I don't know where she'll go,now that her palace is empty.
I watched Tiffa go to her room. She left her staff outside, leaning against the wall beside her door. The door was painted black… How dull.
"What happened to her ?" Tooth asked in concern. I sighed, taking my hoodie off and letting my hair completely show. "No idea… But I think it's because Jamie didn't see her…"
"Oh… Tough luck. You know how to handle that." Tooth giggled a bit, patting my shoulder. "Go give her a hand."
I took a look at her. "She's fire itself. I might make the temperature drop to zero in her room if I come in…"
"Oh,don't worry. You sat beside her,she didn't flinch. Coming in her room won't do anything." Tooth smiled. "And I really think you're the closest person she has, compared to us." She shrugged, before flying off.
I sighed, staring at her door. Should I really go inside…? What if I disturb her ?
I scratched my head. It's my fault anyways. I shouldn't have talked about Jamie in front of her. I shoved my other hand in my hoodie pocket, then started walking to the black door.
I was about to go in… But I noticed her staff. The gem in it was glowing bright yellow. I blinked. What's with this ? I have a feeling that it's real color is orange…
Confused,I slowly stretched my hand to the staff. I was expecting warmth… Or heat. But nothing came. I blinked, then carefully took it.
It was normal. Like a metal pole with some gem and curves. It didn't feel hot… I smiled a bit. Luck. I can place this in her room.
I placed it back, then twisted the doorknob. My eyes widened in surprise. Open.. I glanced at her staff, and took it before looking at the small space I did.
Cries. My eyebrows furrowed. I placed both of our staffs against the wall, then peeked in.
My eyes widened. She was… Crying. She was leaning against the bedframe of her bed. Hugging her knees, staring at her feet, tears staining her perfect face. A concerned frown crossed my lips.
I took a deep sigh, before opening the door widely. I took our staffs, placing hers beside her door inside. Walking to her,I held my staff in my hand.
Tiffa looked up at me. I gave her a smile. "Can I sit ?" I asked kindly, placing my staff beside her bed. She turned away, giving a small nod.
Sitting beside her,I stared at her face. Her tears didn't even reach her knees. They evaporated at the heat.
"What's wrong…?" I asked,breaking the silence. Sighing,she shook her head. "Nothing…"
"You're not convincing with that look." I slightly chuckled, placing a hand on her arm. Her arm tensed up. I blinked, before taking my hand off. "Sorry…"
Tiffa sat up straight. She slid her feet down and covered her legs with her blanket, then smiled. "I was just startled. I already got used to your cold touch since day one."
I can't help but to smile also. Her smile is contagious. I'm ice itself, but I can feel heat rushing their way to my cheeks.
But it faded when I heard her sigh. "How can you do that…?" She looked up at me with a confused expression. I blinked, surprised. "Do what ?"
"Give off fun… Be seen by children… Make awesome stuff…"
I sighed at her statement. "Tiffa, don't talk that way. You can also do the same.." I smiled. "With fire ? Kids are afraid of my power. If they try to get close, they'll get hurt. They'll cry." She looked downwards with a frown. "And it causes great destruction… I'm the total opposite of you."
I shook my head, then stood up. "You're not." I smiled, going to her window and making frost patterns. She watched quietly, confused at what I'm doing. "You see,the man in the moon chose you." I drew a rabbit from it,then turned to her.
"If he did, maybe you have something special inside you."
I took the rabbit out,and it started hopping around. Tiffa giggled slightly, watching it hop on the air and circle her head around. Snow followed after the rabbit, making her laugh. Her laugh is amazing. I think she should do it more often.
"I know that at this moment, you still don't know who you really are. Why he chose you,and how you ended up in this life." I chuckled slightly, looking at the bunny as it exploded and sprinkled snow over her. Tiffa looked at me with small laughs, the snow getting near her head before melting making her happy in a sudden.
"But I promise you,I'll help you out everytime you need help."
[Tiffa]
I smiled. He's so kind… For someone who felt this way before,I can see that he's so fun to be with.
"You will ?" I blinked. Jack gave a nod, chuckling and showing those perfect lines of his white teeth. Now I know why Tooth likes it.
"Of course." He sat back beside me. My eyes wavered in tears, surprised.
And in a sudden motion,I pulled him into a hug. Cold, yes. But I don't care. He's the very first person who helped me out. Who promised to help me out. The first one to understand how I feel. After all those years of being alone…
I know he's surprised. I can feel it cause he didn't hug back. I slightly smiled, hiding my face in his chest. His blue hoodie smelled like sweet mint.
I heard a small chuckle, then arms wrapping my back. "There.. Don't cry, okay ? You can open up to me everytime you want."
I nodded, hugging him tighter. I heard him sigh in satisfaction. I looked up,smiling.
"Thank you…"
