Chapter Two: The middle

I gurgled and spat up water, coughing my lungs out as I woke up.

"Yikes." I heard a familiar voice say.

I looked up to see Calum Hood and the other 5sos boys (Luke, Ashton, and the other one) standing over me.

I froze, mortified.

"Uh, I uh, what." I mumbled. They all chuckled.

"Chill out, everything is fine. We found you in a bunch of floating debris.... you were about to drown." Luke said.

"Yeah, this guy was the one who performed CPR for you. He practically saved you." Ashton pointed to Calum.

Calum....saved me?

I felt like my spirit was drifting away into heaven.

"Thanks." I muttered, still in shock that my favorite boys were even talking to me.

"No problem." He nodded.

I sat there not knowing what to do or say. Luckily my mom came in.

She burst through the door, and behind her was Bianca. Of course.

"HARMONY I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD." She screamed. She helped me up.

"Yeah, sorry. That hurricane was crazy. But luckily..." I looked back at Calum. "These guys were there."

"Oh my God. Calum. Ashton. Luke. The other one. AHHH" Bianca squealed. "I love you guys!!!"

"Yeah no one cares. Anyway, bye Harmony!" Calum said.

Before I could say goodbye, my mom took me away.

That wouldnt be the last time I saw him though.

I laid on my bed, daydreaming about Calum's face as Biancapaced back and forth

"So you met 5sos?"

"Yeah."

I wonder if Calum had to do mouth to mouth.

"And Calum saved you from death?"

"Yep."

I wonder what he thought of me.

"While the rest of us didnt get to even see them?!"

"Oh."

I had forgotten that due to the arena falling apart, the concert was canceled.

"Thats so unfair."

I sat up on my bed.

"Um, you were the one who left me. Maybe if you stayed you couldve met them too." I snapped.

"Oh you think you're so special, dont you? Harmony."

"Stop being jealous."

"I'm not jealous, you're just a bITCH."

She flEW AT ME. SUDDENLY, BEFORE I KNEW IT, SHE CHOKED ME AND YEETED ME OUT THE WINDOW.

As I fell I saw her devil eyes stare at me before disappearing back into my room.

Before I could hit the ground, A pair of hands caught me and we tumbled down.

I looked at my SAVIOR. Calum Hood saved me. Again.

"Calum??? What are you doing here??"

"I followed you home. It's not creepy. I promise."

Before I could really think about it too hard, he grabbed my hand.

"Cmon, let's go back inside."

"Why? You saw her throw me out the window. She's crazy."

"She wont get away with this."

With the power of his voice he sang, and suddenly we were flying. The notes lifted us back through the window of my bedroom. He kicked her in the throat.

She fell backwards, hitting her head on the desk and falling into unconsciousness. 

"Uh. What's happening."

"No time to talk Harmony. Let's tie her up and call the police. I wont rest knowing that she is still able to walk freely; she could yeet you again at any moment."

"Why do you care?" I asked.

He looked at me with his dark brown orbs.

"Its a long story."

I looked at Bianca's unconcious body.

"I mean, we have time."

He sighed. "When I was a boy, a witch came to my bedroom and told me that one day, true love's kiss would save someone. That person would be my soulmate and I would be in love forever. Then.... she killed my family."

"I'm so sorry for you." I said.

He held back tears.

"Yeah."

We tied her up to a chair in the kitchen and decided to watch some Netflix as the cops were on their way.

He looked at me. I looked at him.

"Harmony, I...." his words faltered as his eyes trailed down to my lips. We leaned in.

But we didnt get to kiss.
