All they needed

Jisung toyed with the sleeve of the oversized sweater he had draped over his small frame. Round ears, stained slightly red protruded out of his matted hair and a tail that reached the ground swung slowly below the sweater. His voice, no louder than a whisper not daring to appear. His gaze settled on the person in front of him, who shined a light in his eyes and asked if he could speak. The time after was a blur, but all Jisung knew was that he was alone. To this day, he knows he shouldn't have been alone then. Time flew until eventually Jisung ended up where he is now. Sitting in front of an overly concerned looking woman who wouldn't allow Jisung to remain silent. Jisung's ears twitched as the woman spoke.

"How have you been feeling recently Sungie?" she asked with a voice sweet enough to give cavities.

No response.

Jisung tapped his foot quickly on the dark wooden floor that lay beneath him. His eyes going everywhere in the room except for where the woman talking to him needed them. The woman suddenly chuckled, almost defeated as she wrote something in her notebook too quickly for Jisung to make out.

She tried once more,"Sungie?" This time her voice was laced with more concern, almost tempting Jisung to answer. A soft voice broke the current silence of the room.

"Jisung, not Sungie"

The woman laughed again, a full laugh this time around. Leaving Jisung confused and overall a little more scared than he already was.

Clearing her throat, she stood up and approached Jisung for a handshake. She smiled warmly as she inched towards a clearly skiddish Jisung, grabbing his hand despite his protest, and giving it a firm shake. As Jisung turned to exit, she made one last remark.

"Jisung, it was really a pleasure working with such a unique mouse hybrid like you. Such a shame I was only allowed so many sessions with you.." her voice trailed off.

On Jisung's way out, he passed a mirror. As he looked at himself, his now large circular ears, and his flesh colored tail, he remembered that that's all he is to people, a unique hybrid.

Jisung glanced at his phone as he left the building . He sighed as the texts piled up from his only friend and the boy he's always loved but would never admit it.

Chenmeleon: Are you done?

Chenmeleon: Helloooooo

Chenmeleon: Is she STILL talking?!

Chenmeleon: istg don't make me come find you

Chenmeleon: I'm bored.

Chenmeleon: hurry uuuppppp

Chenmeleon: Is she even a good therapist?

Chenmeleon: You know if you spilt the word in half it's The Rapist

Chenmeleon: I'd be cautious with anyone who isn't me

Chenmeleon: I'm pretty fantastic

Jisung shut off his phone and made the walk home. Stopping as he approached his front door to see the person behind all those messages. Chenle. A muted voice came out of Jisung, "Chenle what are you doing here?"

Chenle chuckled as he tried to get his eyes to focus on just Jisung, whose ears jumped at the sound of his friend's laugh.

"I got bored and someone  wouldn't text me back," Chenle said with an accusatory tone as he wrapped his tail around Jisung's arm, dragging him away from his house. "Come on," Chenle started, "I need something warm to eat"
