Light 15 Season 1 Episode 15

Kai's POV
"So what is a Quincy?" Rin asked as we ran around town keeping ourselves aware of anyone who might be watching. "A Quincy is a spiritually aware human who can take in Reishi from their surroundings to create weapons, usually bows and arrows, that destroy Hollows." I explained, maneuvering us around a crowd. "So why don't we see more of them?" he asked, that being the usual next question.

"Because Quincies destroy the souls of the Hollows they can't exorcise them and that messes with the balance of souls." I said giving a brief explanation. "Well that makes sense." he said, side stepping a large group of girls. He kept his eyes on them for a second then tripped and fell.

"Rin if you're not gonna focus then you should probably go back to your body." I said getting annoyed he was checking out girls while Okami was dying. "How about this I'm slowing you down so I'll go back to my body and keep an eye out for a Quincy at school." he said already running in the direction of the school. I almost called after him but realized he was better off gone.

He was slowing me down. I started using Flash Step to make a quicker trip around the city, spreading out a net to search for spiritual energy similar to a Quincy's. I needed to find someone and I needed to do it fast before Okami died.

I hurried on even faster pushing myself further. I felt a strain in my chest but I didn't care I was going to save Okami. Or die trying.

Rin's POV
I made my way back to school just as lunch started, some of the students heading for the cafeteria. I made my way towards the bathroom trying to avoid bumping into anyone. Just as I was about to enter, a girl suddenly ran right into me knocking us both onto the floor.

We groaned in unison, her body on top of mine. We both looked at each other, she probably thought she was floating or something. Wait we were looking at each other.

Her eyes were actually looking at mine not through me like most people did when I was in my Soul Reaper body. "Hi." she said smiling shyly, laughing a little. "You can see me." I said sitting up, moving her onto my lap. "Oh you've never met anyone who can see you?" she asked seeming curious.

"Not really." I said laughing a little at how awkward this felt. She was a medium sized girl with bright green eyes, long, straight, crazy crimson hair, and pale skin with freckles. She was very pretty and had a kind of shy look that said she was new and not very confident.

Then I realized she was sitting in my lap where everyone who can't see spirits can see her. "Sorry I need to get to my body then we have to talk." I said moving her off me and heading into the bathroom. "Alfred where's my body?" I said as he came out of the stall with my body wearing weird party glasses.

"Where's Boss?" he asked looking behind me excitedly for Kai. "Looking for a Quincy." I said taking my body from him then getting inside of it. "Right then I'll be here." he said, going back into the stall like it was his new home.

I walked out of the bathroom and found the girl still waiting. "Alright let's talk." I said taking her arm and leading us just outside of the lunchroom so no one would disturb us. "Who are you?" I asked now that we were alone.

"Uh I'm new here my name is Gretchen today's my first day." she said, looking down a little shyly. "Name's Rin and I guess I'm technically a Soul Reaper." I said a little awkwardly. "I know, I've met one before." she said casually like it was normal.

"Then you know that Soul Reapers hunt Hollows and save souls and everything else?" I asked making sure she understood what a Soul Reaper was. "Yes I know it all the one I met was very talkative." she said seeming proud to know so much. "Are you by any chance a Quincy?" I asked hoping she would say yes and be able to help.

"Yes actually I have some Quincy abilities, why am I in trouble or something for being one?" she asked sounding a little scared. "No I just need your help healing another Soul Reaper apparently he needs a Quincy for something." I briefly explained looking around a little nervously in case we were seen. "Oh then let's go I'd be happy to help." she said quickly, looking excited to be of help. This girl was interesting.

"Alright we'll have to go now he doesn't have a lot of time." I said taking her hand to lead the way. Before I knew it she suddenly pulled me into a kiss. "Oh sorry." a guy said discovering us then heading the other way. "That was close." she said, guess she saw the guy and kissed me so we didn't seem suspicious.

"Right yeah close." I said blushing a little, taking her hand again. As I did she started blushing too as I led the way off school grounds. This was going to be a very awkward walk.

Third Person POV
The Hollow watched the two of them from afar. "Mm the missus won't mind if I eat a few souls would she?" it said to itself jumping down from the roof inching towards the lunchroom. "Mm then again one big meal always tastes more satisfying then a million tiny ones." it said, instead changing directions to follow Rin.

"Hopefully he leads me to the feast of a life time but even then he should be more than enough." it continued, keeping a distance while suppressing its spiritual pressure. Rin had no idea what was following them or what was going to happen very soon.
