Light 10 Season 1 Episode 10

Kai's POV
I groaned in anger feeling pissed off. "Stupid game." I said as I put away my Soul Pager which I was using to play a few games. I had been losing at a game from the World of the Living that I downloaded, Tetris I think it's name was.

I hate it. Too much thinking.

I decided not to go to school since the day was beautiful and staying up in my tree seemed like more fun. But now I was annoyed after barely reaching 5000 points. Okay it was barely 2000 points.

I got in position to meditate to try and clear my head but as soon as I did I got an alert on my Soul Pager. I looked down at it to see a message and coordinates. It was from the tracker I placed on Rin's body after our sparring match.

The tracker was meant to tell me if he ever left his body and if he did when and where, just in case someone threw him out of it or if he just slipped out. That happened sometimes.

I jumped out of the tree using Flash Step as I landed on the ground to make my way towards the coordinates quick as I could. They were leading me to the school for some reason. Once there I made my way into the girl's bathroom and saw the scene before me.

On the ground was a human girl with her Soul Chain leading into a mirror and face first in the sink was Rin's body. I needed to act quick before someone came to check this place out. And I needed to figure out what happened to the girl and how Rin got out of his body without my help.

I pulled out my soul candy and popped one into my mouth. I came out of my gigai as Alfred took over for me. "Your orders sir?" he asked giving me a salute standing at attention. "Protect Rin and the girl while I'm gone I'm going to investigate." I said turning away from him then, recklessly, I jumped into the mirror.

Whatever this thing was I was going to beat it. As I hopped out of a pond into a forest I immediately felt the huge spiritual pressure of the Hollow. And something else, another Hollow's spiritual energy?

A fight was going on and it was massive. I needed to hurry and save the girl and Rin. Or else we'll be in big trouble. Both spiritual pressures were huge so whoever these Hollows were they would be too much for even me.

I quickly ran through the forest using Flash Step along the way heading for the fight. Hopefully I wouldn't interrupt them and they'd just kill each other.

Rin's POV
-an hour before-
I arrived in the strange forest scanning around for the Hollow. He seemed to be an expert in keeping his spiritual pressure low enough for me to not sense it. "You mean for me to not feel it remember you're not in control here." the voice said in my head reminding me again I was just a passive watcher here.

My body jumped ahead running quickly through the trees hopping branch to branch. Then he finally caught a whiff of someone else's spiritual pressure. It was faint but he could tell that it was most likely Robyn's. Meaning that she was still alive. "For now." it warned as we headed in her direction.

Fast as lightning he reached the Hollow's campsite hanging from a tree just above it. "Yes you'll be a fine meal for me I haven't eaten in so long." the Hollow said covered in a strange green shroud that looked like camouflage. "It is camouflage it must hide his spiritual pressure from Soul Reapers and Hollows." the voice said having the same thought as me. Or as us? I'm not sure how this works yet.

The Hollow had Robyn hanging from a fishing line, the hook stuck through her soul chain. She was unconscious but seemed to still be breathing, her chest rising and falling slowly. Almost too slow.

"Now let's attack!" the voice yelled as he drew one of the katana from my back and jumped on top of the Hollow. "Who dares?!" the Hollow yelled trying to shake me off as my body plunged the katana into his back. My body held on tightly not going to be knocked off so easily. Then the Hollow stuck his fishing pole into the ground and jumped high into the air, turning midair to land on his back.

My body quickly moved and drew the katana from the Hollow's back and used the weird speed move I did yesterday to land on the ground away from the Hollow, a sonic boom echoing in my ears. The Hollow landed on his back and sprung back up with an angry look, looks like we interrupted his dinner plans. "What are you Soul Reaper or Hollow?" the Hollow asked looking at me with searching eyes.

"You clearly look like a Soul Reaper but your spiritual pressure and that Sonido are very Hollow." the Hollow took a step towards me. "I'm neither but both at the same time ugly." the voice said using my voice, coming out slightly distorted and warped. "Ahh so you're one of those Visoreds I've heard so much about." the Hollow looked at me with new interest.

"On the contrary actually." my body moved quickly using, Sonido he called it, slashing at the Hollow's camouflage only nicking his side as he dodged. "I'm much better than them." the voice said releasing an explosion of spiritual pressure. "You're still nothing compared to me you pissant." the Hollow said releasing a burst of its own spiritual pressure in answer. "Sorry Rin but this a battle between beasts so I'll have to push you a little deeper." the voice said in my head pushing me further inward.

My view expanded out as I was pushed deeper into my own mind having an out of body experience, watching the battle from beside my body like it was an action movie. I watched my body and the Hollow going toe-to-toe both equally matched in power and speed. They traded blows with each other my body gaining new scars as the Hollow's cloak got more and more shredded. But I couldn't feel any of this only watching passively from my own subconscious.

That's when I turned my attention to Robyn. She was awake! Except her face was a mask of horror watching as my body fought with a monster like a monster. I wanted to tell her that it wasn't me it was something fighting for me but I couldn't tell her. And she'd probably call me crazy too.

Then the battle shifted for a second. I felt something growing more in my body, something beginning to unlock. I watched as slowly part of a white mask began forming on the edges of my face, the whites of my eyes turning black and my pupils turning purple. I could feel my body losing control, losing myself in the thing I let have control of my body. "Stop...stop now...that's enough!" I shouted hoping the creature would hear me and give me back my body.

It just continued fighting, visibly enjoying as it got damaged and damaged in return. It loved the fight whether it was losing or winning it was enjoying itself totally and completely. The mask spread onto more of my face reaching my cheeks, small markings appearing on it. Then I suddenly felt another presence off in the distance away from the fight.

The Hollow and my body stopped fighting as they took notice of the new presence. "I'm sorry I couldn't finish him Rin it's up to you now." the voice said as I slowly began returning to my body. "What are you talking about?" I said as I began to settle back in to control feeling all the pain my body had endured. "Our deal lasted until Kai came and now he's here so see ya." I could feel the voice recede farther into my mind.

"Wait but what if we can't kill it?" I said as my eyes turned back to normal, I could feel my wounds healing at a fast rate. "Just don't get killed and if you think you need me that much try remembering my name next time." with that the voice finally disappeared and the mask around my face shattered. Kai finally arrived at our location just as I bent down to one knee my entire skeleton aching. "So you make a fool of me and then leave just like that." the Hollow said angrily, his attention still on me.

"Well I'll just have to go full power then to drag you out of that pathetic Soul Reaper!" the Hollow screamed ripping his camouflage off showing us his real form.

"Now the battle becomes real!"
