chapter nine: maybe it's not my weekend

DAY 4/14

After a brief conversation with Brennen, I started cleaning up the house a bit. Casey watched me, smirking, and eating her ice cream.

"Is there a reason why you're just watching me clean?" I asked, annoyed.

She shrugged. "I just knew it..."

"Knew what?" I questioned.

She placed her ice cream on the counter. "That Colby and now Brennen like you. They wouldn't have fought Travis unless they cared about you."

"Or maybe... something else happened. We won't know until they're here." I sighed.

Three loud knocks came from our front door.

Speak of the devils...

I walked over to the door and opened it, Brennen storming in followed up Colby, Sam, and Kat.

"Yo, I'm still ready to swing baby, you don't even understand!" Brennen yelled, pacing around the room.

I closed and locked the door, turning to everyone. Besides Casey, not a single person in this room was happy. Brennen was twitching, eager to move, Colby had his arms folded across his chest, his face in a slight grimace, and Sam had his arm protectively around Kat, who's dress was all wet.

"Kat, why are you all wet?" I asked.

She sighed. "Travis."

Casey gasped. "What the fuck did he do?"

"Well, me and Sam arrived kinda late to the party. Sam went to go get us drinks and Travis came up to me and started flirting with me. I knew he met me and Sam before, so I was confused as to why he was flirting with me. I told him I wasn't interested, and that Sam would be coming back. Then he got all mad and said something like 'why are all the fat chicks being rude tonight?'" She recounted.

I felt my stomach drop a bit when she said that.

She continued. "Then Sam, Colby, and Brennen came over and right as they got to me, Travis threw his drink on me."

"And that's when we decided to fight him and his dorky-ass friends." Brennen jumped in.

"Do you want a change of clothes? You can borrow some of mine." Casey asked, pointing towards her room.

Kat paused before nodding her head, "Thanks." She then left with Casey.

"So... what happened with the fight? You guys don't exactly look bruised up." I remarked.

"Right as we're about to get it in, Big Nik's security pulled everyone away, so we didn't really get to fight them. But like, I'm ready to go whenever they want to throw down." Brennen retorted.

"Alright, calm down Rocky," I stated, rolling my eyes. "Do you guys want to stay over? We ordered pizza and take out, and we have ice cream."

Sam chimed in. "I don't know what Kat wants to do, but if she wants to stay over, I'll stay with her."

I nodded my head. "Okay. And you two?"

"I could kill for some pizza right now..." Brennen shrugged. Sam agreed with him.

"It's in the kitchen." I smiled.

Sam and Brennen left to the kitchen. It was just me and Colby, who hadn't spoken yet.

I turned him. "Can you help me get some blankets from my room?"

Colby nodded his head and followed me to my room.
