Thank you so much for reading this exact 500 worded flashfiction. As a proud, homosexual individual—shocking right?—pride month is one of my favorite times of the year. Our community is stepped on, persecuted, stereotyped, chewed up and spat out and yet we still find our wings. Even if your feathers are plucked and ridiculed, you can still learn to soar.
