I like to believe there is beauty in everything, but I also like to believe that everything happens for a reason. For instance why does the sun come up and make it morning, or why does it go down and suddenly everything becomes night? I know scientists say It's because the earth travels around the sun and spins while doing so, but in my home town there's a different story.
My Grandmother told me that long ago when the world was first born, there where two clans of light and dark and they live together in peace and harmony for many years. Us mortals could see nothing of them but the energy they radiated. We knew that there where many of both the clans because we could feel them all around, and we knew this because it was never fully dark or light just in between the too.
it's said that a war broke out between the two clans. It would be dark in some places for years and light in others. Humanity began to suffer, they where not able to grow food, humans that lived in the light would acquire horrible burns and die from infection, and humans that lived in darkness often froze to death.
Light won the war but decided to leave our planet to develop their own. They still watched over us, but they could only watch one side of the planet at a time. So they vowed that until the end of time they countiuasly circle our planet and make sure darkness never tried to harm us again. They allowed darkness to live only so that they would not over whelm humanity and cause more tragedy's. This my grandmother says is why the sun rises and falls. For it does not actually rise or fall, Light follows Darkness to make sure they behave.
