Never Again

Y/n POV

"Daddy" the soft rasp coming from Emily's voice shattered my heart. I couldn't bear the sight of her lying on that hospital bed, she reminded me too much of "Her".

I quickly ran over to her side of the bed and took her fragile hands and caressed them. Her hands were soft compared to my calloused hands. I kissed her knuckles and cried into her open palms.

"I'm so sorry" I kept on repeating, but words weren't simply enough to convey the deep sorrow and pain I was feeling. Losing one person was enough, but two, I don't think life would be worth living if that was to happen.

"Sir, I'm gonna take my leave, I hope she feels better" Soo-young bowed and left the room

Looking back at my daughter's brown eyes, I couldn't help but feel guilty. How come it is her in that bed? Not me? I thought to myself.

Moving the stray hair from her face, I put it behind her ear and moved forward to kiss her forehead. After that, I moved to my original position and put my head down on the side of the bed. Feeling the oblivion darkness starting to consume me, I let my self go.

I woke up to rustling near my head, instinctively, I reached for the alarm clock next to me, but was met with wires and buttons.  Then I remembered I was in Emily's hospital room. Her labored breathing has subsided and her quiet, rhythmic breaths have returned.

Knowing she was getting better, I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief knowing that everything was going to be just fine.

3rd Person POV

"Unnie, we're going to be late! we have to go meet with PD-Nim today" Tzuyu saying to the eldest member.  Twice was just came back from another successful world tour, performing in cities such as New York, Chicago, and Manila, they reached fame and stardom in only a short period of time.

All nine members quickly ran out of the dorm and boarded the TWICE van and headed straight for the JYP building.  They were going to discuss a new project that they were to be part of, but all of the details were kept hidden until the arrival of a special someone. 

"Jihyo-Unnie, what do you think PD-Nim will have us do? He keeps on talking about this special project, but we know nothing about it"  Chaeyoung saying as she was playing on her phone.

"Honestly Chae, I don't even know too. This is the first time PD-Nim has kept us in the dark about anything. But knowing him it must be for a good reason"  Sana joined into the banter.

"Girls how about this, lets all just trust him. We all know he wants the best for us so let's not get ahead of ourselves and make any assumptions. " Jihyo remarked setting a tone of wisdom and confidence amongst the group.

After the exchange, the girls stayed quiet and listened to the hums of the car tires awaiting their arrival at the building. 

The car drove around the side of the building and parked into the lower level garages to avoid the mob of eager fans and nosey paparazzi.

Upon entering the main lobby, they were greeted by the lobby receptionist, she gave them a manila folder with all of their daily schedules for today.  Just as they were about to leave the lobby a broadcast played over the television. Everybody stood and watched the big screen to see what was going on.
