❝ I don't know what love is; teach me, show me make me feel what love is. ❞
— Georgy
YOU BOLT AWAKE SWEATING WITH your baby hair sticking to your face. The room wasn't hot but you were drenched, feeling as if the hot air has just sticked to your body and your body alone. You look at your side and watch Saroise who was still sound asleep only her hair peeking out of her blanket. You look outside and see that the sun has just risen and you know no one would be awake at this hour of the day. You pulled yourself off of your covers and went ahead to your cabinet to grab a towel to wipe your sweat.
You choose to wear only a tight camisole tank top and a pair of dolphin shorts not worrying about the cold that might be outside; you were used to it because you always take walks early in the morning before school. The birds were chirping and the trees were swaying. Not a single soul was awake, judging by the silence that wrapped your ears. You loved the peace and quiet the morning give; the lack of people to disturb you and the absence of the sounds of honking cars was such a luxury. Even though you lived in a small suburban town, it was too alive to be one.
You walk on the gravel with the rocks crunching every time your shoes step on them. You decide to wander into the forest, not caring if you get lost and swallowed into the greenery. You run your hand unto the hard branches of the pine trees and picked the flower that was strayly growing underneath. You inserted it between you ears and walked again only to hear a stream of water splashing south. You walked through the leaf-filled land stepping into some branches and finally arrived into the river bank.
You moved closer only to a see clothing carelessly dumped on the bank with shoes that lead straight into the river. You investigated but was stopped to hear a voice call at you. "Did you follow me here?" You turn to look at the person who made their way to you swimming. You stand up to see Tom reach the surface of the river.
"I didn't follow you here. I only stumbled upon it and us meeting here is a coincidence." You answer and put both your arms on your waists.
"Hmm, I could not tell if you're being sarcastic or not." He says as he pulled his hair back.
"I'm being honest." You say and sit down crossing your legs while avoiding his gaze instead you marveled at the surroundings. "This is such a beautiful place. I knew coming into this camp would be somehow some sort of vacation." You stated and see Tom in the corner of your eyes pulling himself up to the bank to sit next to you.
"Yeah, I'm glad you think that. Some kids prefer the city than this." He replies and looks around him as well.
"Kids?" You question.
"Huh?"
"You think I'm still a kid?" You asked him, eyebrows raised as you finally looked at his beautiful face.
"You're a kid, are you not?"
"I'm eighteen, am I not?" You say bitting the side of your cheeks.
"Well then, you're a woman." You chuckle only to leave Tom confused as to why you did. Tom stands up to jump into the water making it splash all over you. "Are you gonna join me?" He asks, a smirk starting to form his lips.
"Are you gonna refuse me again?" You asked starting to take off your shoes.
"No." You take off your shorts and jump into the water. You felt Tom catch you as you fall into the water. Without question, his hands landed on your waists, holding you close as you try to stay afloat.
"I didn't know it would be this deep." You state as you felt yourself getting carried away by the current of the river. You look at the flower that once stayed on your hair being carried away from you.
"That's why you should hold on to me." Tom cheekily remarks.
"I can swim you dumbass." You let go of his grip and splashed water to his face. That made him swim further into you and catch you again. You squirm into his grip only making him hold you tighter. You stop and look at his eyes while your arms landed themselves to his shoulders. "Were you disgusted by what you heard last night?" You question and his eyes softened.
"No." He answers. "I would never be." Tom continues and pulled his hands above the water to put your hair behind your ears. "Why did you think that way?"
"I don't know. I guess that's just what's been eating my brain. I can't stop thinking about that stupid affair." You answer.
"Last night, why were you out?" Tom questions as you begin to wrap your legs around Tom's body.
"I wanted to wander." You lie not wanting to tell him about Harry. Tom only nods and briefly looks away probably thinking about the lie you had just told him."Can I kiss you?" You asked and his eyes turned back to you to stare.
"You didn't have t—" You cut him off by kissing his lips, his soft and bitable lips. You took liberty to insert your tounge inside his mouth tasting the pale taste of a cigarette. Your hands that rested on his shoulders before now wraps around his neck that you so wanted to bite. You let go of the kiss and catch your breath and stared into his eyes. "Uhm (Y/N), no one has to know about this. Swear it to me please."
"They won't care if they knew Tom."
"Swear it (Y/N)." You gulped and finally gave in.
"I swear." You answer and let go pushing yourself to reach the bank. "I have to go before anyone starts being suspicious." You put on your shorts and your shoes, not bothering that your toes are wet.
"But no one's awake at this time."
"I sweared to you didn't I? I have to go." You turn around and left Tom all alone staring at you as you were hidden by the greens of the forest.
