"Uh this tastes so good" i moan out taking in another spoonful of my toffee ice cream, calum sits opposite me prodding at his bubble gum one.
"what's up i thought it was an ice cream day" i say to Calum as he looks up at me a sad smile on his face.
"It is i was just thinking" he replies and lazily puts a spoonful of ice cream into his mouth.
"care to share?" i ask
"You" Calum replies
"Me?" i ask
"Yes you, i'm just grateful you're in my life you know." Calum says a small smile spreads onto his face.
"Don't get all cheesy on me calum." i reply and he takes my hand rubbing it with his thumb, anyone walking by would think that we were a couple but if anything we're far from that. We don't say anything for while but calum carry's on holding my hand and then i remember what his mum said to me.
"Remember when you played at Sydney live?" i ask already knowing he'll remember.
"Yeah, that was a good day." He replies, then adds "why?"
"Wellllllllll yourmumgotanemailfromabandcalled5secondsofsummerandtheywantyoutobetheirbassplayer" i say quickly hoping i don't tick him off.
"What Micah? All i got from that was well, mum and bass?" Calum says laughing slightly at me.
"Your mum got an email from this band called 5 seconds of summer and they saw you at the concert and want you to be their bass player/singer." i say slower this time.
"Oh really?" Calum says rhetorically.
"You know i think it'd be a good idea" i say, if i'm honestly i think that if he made new friends and was doing something he loves would help get him back on his feet.
"I'll think it about, do you know who sent it?" He asks and i smile happy that he's at least interested.
"How about we go back to your house and check out the email?" I suggest.
"Inviting yourself round are you now" Calum jokes and i stop and smile at him.
"What?" He questions me raising an eyebrow.
"You just seem happier and that makes me happy." I say as i feel my cheeks heat up.
Calum just nods and we stand up and leave the ice cream shop.
