"I said that I would free you from that place, now you have to keep your part of the bargain." His mischievous smile holds no ill intent towards her.
"You cheated. You never told me that you were a prince. Now I have to marry you even if you lost." Although her words may seem upset but the tone is playful in meaning.
"Don't worry Princess, I'll protect you from now on." The wind blows the shattering petals of peach blossoms from the nearby orchard towards the two.
The alarm on CuiXiu's phone rings, rousing her from her dream. She sits up confused at the dream but brushes it aside. Unknownst to CuiXiu, that is just the beginning of many dreams.
"Cui'er, are you happy?" He hugs her as she lies back on him.
"En. Happy." She smiles contently. "You're here with me, I can't be more happy."
"That's good." He leans down, placing a gentle kiss on the maiden's cherry lips. "I promise to never leave your side. In my heart, there is only you." He hold her tightly, seeming to never let go.
Again, CuiXiu is woken up by her alarm. The sweet, affectionate dreams she's been having lately are of no concern to her. The real problem is to finish her paper due tomorrow.
"You evil woman! How dare you hurt this Prince's person!" Thunder claps loudly above while the violent rain pours down onto the exposed people on the ground. His sword points at the once beloved maiden.
"I didn't! I said that I didn't! But you do not believe me." Her voice trembles and fades from her shout.
"I don't want to hear your lies anymore!" He brings down his sword, aiming at her life.
"My lord, Mistress is your wife. She would never do that!" His sword slashes the maid shielding her Mistress, taking the servant's life.
"Xiao Lan!" Her tears blend with the falling rain, unable to tell them apart, as if the sky is crying with her. It is then that her heart finally shatters.
"My Prince! The enemies are attacking!" A soldier running yells the news.
"Count yourself lucky! Lock her up!"
This time, CuiXiu wakes up without the need of her alarm. Cold sweat condenses on her forehead and her heart beats rapidly. The sweets dreams were gone and are replaced by a nightmare.
"CuiXiu, you don't so good. Are you sick?" YuZhong asks with his brows scrunched in concern. CuiXiu weakly smiles.
"I'm fine. I didn't sleep well."
"Do you have a lot of school work? I can decrease your shifts if you need it."
"It's nothing boss, I just had a nightmare, that's all."
"A nightmare? What nightmare?" His heart thinks perhaps.
"Hmm. Well, it was raining and there was this man. I don't remember what he looked like but he wanted to kill me but a girl shielded me and died." She explains the details. He pales at her words. "I think I've been watching too many historical dramas." She concludes.
"Is that so?" His gentle smile returns. "Then don't worry about it." She nods and continues her day.
I want you to remember me, yet I wish you not to recall the rest. That is my selfish wish.
