Chapter Eleven

<Shericha’s POV>

     ‘Cause all of me, loves all of you, love your curves and all your edges, all your perfect imperfections. Give your all to me, I give my all to you, you’re my end and my beginning, even when I lose I’m winning. Cause I’d give you a——ll of me, and you give me a——ll of you’ I was playing a John Legend song.

     “I’m home!” Daniel shouted when he entered the house. And he has a big, large smile on his face.

     “Ang saya mo ata ngayon ah.” I teased him.

     “Hinatid ko si Jhanella sa bahay nya ngayon, that’s why.” He said. He’s obsessing that girl already. But I like it, at least his happy and I can see a smile on his face everytime I see him.

     Our mom was there. She looked at Daniel with her arms folded. “San ka galing? 7:30 na. bat ang late mong umuwi?” another sermon from our mom. “Go to your room.”

     He went to his room. I felt sad for it. He had a wonderful day and mom, right there, would ruin it.

     I went to my mom ad confronted her. “Mom, you know, Dan just had a wonderful day and you know, you just ruined it for him.” I really looked sad saying everything to mom for Daniel. “He talked to her crush and hinatid nya pa sya sa bahay nya. And was really a wonderful day for him.”

     Now my mom looked guilty right now, “Hindi ba madami na syang ex? Dadagdagan nya pa?

     “Yeah, true that. Pero, mom alam mo lahat ng nagging ex nya iniwan sya. Don’t you think he deserves happiness again?”

     “Six exes? Not enough?”

     “Mom!”

     “Fine! Hindi naman sa pinagbabawalan ko syang mag-girlfriend ulit pero still, he needs discipline.”

     “Mom, I understand you, also Daniel. I don’t know who I will join forces with. Wag nyo akong nililito. Gusto ko lang naman i-klaro ang tama.”

     Now, she really looked guilty. “Ok, I will let him go with that girl. But in one condition. He still needs to follow my rules.”

     “Yeah, I’ll tell that to him. Thanks mom. I’m glad you too are helping Dan.”

     “Everyone helps Dan here. Wala namang araw na hindi tayo kailangan ni Dan eh.” She’s laughing now. Wow, I’m really appreciating myself. I’m doing good things, this days.

     I thanked mom and ran upstairs to visit Daniel in his room. He was there with a cellphone beside his ear.

     “Hey, Daniel” I called him. He hid his cellphone as fast as he can. Who’s cellphone is that? His cellphone is with mom. I seated beside him on the bed. “Kaninong cellphone yan?

     “Akin.” I’m confused right now. I raised both my eyebrows. “Binili ko yan kaninang umaga bago ako pumasok sa school.”

     “So dalawa na phone mo?” I asked him.

     “Yup” he answered back. “Kasi I thought of a plan before ako pumasok.”

     “What plan?” he is really getting me confused.

     “I talked to Jhanella this afternoon for a long time and that was a reason why I went home late. I recorded our conversation, actually.”

     “Talaga?” wow, my brother is smart. I was so amazed right now. “Di naman nya nahalata?”

     “Hindi naman. Ako pa!”

     He is not just handsome, but he is also a genius! We listened at the record he recorded. And we also listed it all we have heard.

     After we listened to the recording, we went downstairs for dinner.

     We were on our usual seat plan. And mom started the conversation nicely. “Dan kwento ka naman. How’s your day?”

     “Fine.” He answered.

     “Oh c’mon. give it already, deets.”

     Finally he smiled. He shared those things he told me about Jhanella and bout the recording. And even he answered confidently the questions mom and threw him. And I’m so proud he got to share his feelings again to us, all through the heartbroken years he experienced before.

     After dinner. His bright smile again appeared. He seated beside me on the couch and we, as a family, had a movie-marthon. And it was fun. We hadn’t had much of a family come-together in months.
