You were freaking out when you heard the rumors. Of course, Thomanikon was the worst at keeping secrets, but so far everyone knew except for you.

It wasn't until his little brother, Paddion, came up to you researching exactly what marriage, proposals, and weddings are like in your own culture that you started to become curious.

Naturally, Tom wanted to make sure he combined both his own culture and yours to give you the best experience ever.

So, one day, Tom was acting really nervous, and you didn't know why. You tried to calm him down and he was being sweet, but you could tell he was on edge.

Later that night, he invited you on a date. You were all giddy because you always were when he wanted to specifically take you on a date. He spent a lot of alone time with you, just being together was nice enough.

But, everyone once in a while he wanted to treat you.

Really, it was an elaborate plan, of course. He first took you to get dinner at this restaurant that you had both found and loved in the inner city. It was small but cute, and you both adored it.

After that, you walked around and ate what you called 'alien ice cream.' He took you took you to a small park and when you got there, the entire park was covered in lights, much like your date on the roof, but this was large scale. You gasped at the way the park was illuminated and Tom smiled at your reaction.

"You did all of this?" You asked.

He nodded with a grin.

When he finally brought you to the place where he had blankets laid out, he started talking to you.

"So, I've been doing a lot of research." He casually commented.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, because I wanted to know more about your culture and what someone does when they decide they want to spend the rest of their life with them."

Your heart started beating faster and you nearly melted at his words.

Your smile was wide as you let out a long, "Okay..."

He smiled a little and tilted his eyebrows at your sudden nerves.

"It turns out, Maxmirians and humans are much alike," he said softly.

Butterflies began to flutter in your chest as you realized what was happening. He reached up gently towards you and pushed a strand hair behind your ear before pulling you into a passionate kiss.

Despite your nerves, you couldn't help but just love the fact that you were there with him in that moment. The kiss made you think of everything that you had been through to be with him. All the ups and downs, and here you were, kissing him on a blanket under a million lights.

When the two of you finally pulled away, his hands were still cupped around your face and head.

"It would be a lot. You'd be the Grand Duchess of Maxmirius. If you don't want that pressure on you I unders-"

You cut him off with another kiss that was just as passionate and warm as before. He chuckled when he pulled away. He looked into your eyes before slowly standing and offering you his hand to pull you up.

You accepted and stood before him. Your hands shook so you clasped them together. He bent down on one knee and pulled out a small box and presented it towards you with it opened.

It was the most beautiful ring you had ever seen. A sparkling purple gem gleamed under the lights surrounding you. Next to it, a small royal crest, which you recognized as Tom's was pinned into the plush covering. You smiled, pulling your hand up to your mouth in shock.
