Faith's P.O.V
I slammed my hand down on my alarm for the third time, It was now 7AM and I had to get up as I had to leave the house in 40 minutes time for my first day of Junior Year at Manhattan High. I got up and stripped down, quickly having a shower and then spraying deodorant. I went back into my bedroom from my en suite bathroom.
We have a nice big house here, we live in Manhattan Beach in Los Angeles, we're a 10 minute walk from the beach. I live with my Mom (Emma), Dad (Martin), my older brother Jase and my younger sister Mia, we also have a Beagle Dog called Jasper, he is 4 years old. We live in a 5 bedroom house, we all have our own rooms and then there is a spare room. We have a big living room, a den in which my brother lives in playing on the consoles, we have a big kitchen with a breakfast bar and then a dining room which we use every Sunday for a family dinner. We also have 2 reception rooms, one is used as my dad's study, he is an Architect, he built this house that we live in.
Anyway I carried on getting ready for school, I went into my walk in wardrobe and grabbed out a pair of white high waisted jean shorts with a light pink cami top and then a grey cardigan with holes all over it, and then I matched it with some white converse. I put this on over my white matching underwear. I brushed my long blonde naturally wavy hair into a pony tail and then put that into a platt, before grabbing my brown leopard print sunglasses and my black school handbag, putting my books in it from studying last night and then left the room. I went into the kitchen and grabbed a banana out of the fruit bowl.
"We ready to leave brother?" I asked Jase.
We ride together, we kind of have to share a car until Jase turns 18 and then my parents are going to get him his own car, and then when my little sister Mia turns 16 and passes her driving test she will get this car and then my parents will get me my own, but they don't believe in people under 18 having their own cars. Mia will only get her own car because I will be 19 and at college so she won't have a choice. I'm sure she will love it. Mia is only 13 so has got another 3 years before she can take the test.
I passed drivers education earlier on in the year, a few months after my 16th birthday. I turned 16 on the 27th September last year, so I've only got 3 weeks until my 17th birthday. I still have no idea what I'm doing for it.
"I am being picked up by Matt so the car is all yours today, we have got a long football practise after school so will be easier for you to just take the car." Jase said.
"Okay then, I'll see you tonight. I'll start tea when I get home as Mom and Dad won't be in until later tonight." I told him.
"Okay then."
I grabbed the car keys off the counter top and went out to the car as Mia got onto the middle school bus outside our house. I waved at her and she waved back before getting onto the bus and leaving as I got into the car and drove in the direction of school. I have a curfew on driving, everyone does until their 18, you can't drive before 7AM or after 11PM.
Our school offer a school bus but I have just always gone with Jase, but before he passed his test he used to take the bus. My parents have never been able to take us, they both work long hours, my dad works from 8 in the morning until 6 at night every night Monday to Friday, he can be flexible on some days but most days that's pretty strict, he works for a very busy Architect company. My Mom works from 9 in the morning until 7 at night, she again works for a good Therapist company, but she can't always be the best with her hours, if a session runs over then it does.
I carried on driving the 15 minutes to school. I had the best summer at Journalism camp, I have gone the last 2 summers and plan on going next summer too. I want to be a professional writer, I am planning on going to Colorado College when I have finished high school to study writing. I work on some stories but so far they are just personal. Our house gets pretty empty during the summer as Jase goes away to sports camp too, so it is just Mom, Dad and Mia in the house.
