Once the Hero Killers rendezvous at the hideout, Stain gathers Eri and Aizen to plan their approach on the Shie Hassaikai compound. '
Stain: Eri. What can you tell us about the compound?
Eri: The compound is completely gated off and requires someone to buzz in to gain entry. Past the gate is a large courtyard filled with trees that leads to the main entrance. As for the inside, the compound is inside the first floor for the residence is also decorated like a regular office. However, there is a hidden passageway that can only be opened using a secret switch hidden beneath a vase. The passageway is a set of stairs that leads down into a secret underground labyrinth.
Aizen: How do you know this?
Eri simply says nothing as she continues to describe the compound.
Eri: The underground labyrinth is a maze with several passageways that stretch on miles. It's meant to move people in and out in secret without raising suspicion.
Aizen: Overhaul will no doubt bump up security there after killing Rappa and Tengai.
Stain: I'll go scout out the place. See what I can do.
Eri: I'm coming with you.
Stain: No. You're emotional. If we scout out the place and you see Overhaul, I can't risk you compromising the mission. I shouldn't be gone for long.
Stain then exits the hideout, leaving Eri and Aizen alone to wait for Stain's return. Aizen then takes the opportunity to talk to Eri.
Aizen: Care to explain how you know so much about the compound. I've dealt with my share of scumbags, but no one within the Shie Hassaikai that I dealt with know the compound with detailed knowledge of the place like you just told us.
Eri gives Aizen an angry glare. The hardened vigilante begins to get annoyed with Eri's silence on the matter.
Aizen: Whatever grudge you got with Overhaul, Stain clearly knows well enough not to bring you along for reconnaissance.
Eri: You never told me what's your story with Overhaul!
Aizen: How about this? I tell you mine, you tell me yours. Sounds like a fair deal to me. Deal?
Eri thinks about Aizen's deal. She finally accepts as Aizen begins to tell his story.
Aizen: My Dad was a Trigger dealer for Shie Hassaikai. He used the money made from this to provide for our family. Mom tried her hardest to convince my Dad to get out while he still could, but my Dad was the stubborn type.
Eri: Did he ever....
Aizen: Dad wasn't the hardened drug dealer type. He's mild mannered sure, but he's not the kinda guy to kill people. After a while, Dad decided that he wanted out. He went to Overhaul himself to try to get out.
Eri: What happened next?
Aizen: Overhaul came to our house and used his Quirk to dissemble my Mom and Dad to bloody heaps on the floor. I hid under my bed as a watched that bastard kill my family. After that, not a single goddamn hero came in to help. That's when I became the Grim Reaper.
Eri: I'm.....sorry to hear that.
Aizen: Don't be. It's Overhaul that's gonna be real fucking sorry! Now that my story's out, now it's your turn.
Eri didn't want to recount her backstory to Aizen, but she made a deal and she planned to honor it. Nothing could prepare her or Aizen for what would happen next.
Eri: You remember that Quirk Destroying Drug?
Aizen: Yeah. What about it?
Eri: Overhaul used my DNA to create it. My.....Quirk......it's called Rewind.
Aizen: Rewind?
Eri: I have the ability to rewind a living person's body to it's previous state. Like what I did with your arm.
Aizen: I remember that. So Overhaul used you to make that drug?
Eri: There's more......when I was a little girl, my Quirk manifested and I......I.......
Eri felt tears streaming down her face, but she remained strong.
Eri: I.....killed my father. My Quirk made him......stop existing......
Hearing that stunned the vigilante. The idea of a Quirk's Manifestation resulting in someone's death shocked him.
Eri: That's when Overhaul came in. He took me in and he.....destroyed me and repaired me to make this drug.....
Aizen: How many times did he do this? I'm almost afraid to ask....
Eri: He did this to me hundreds upon hundreds of times. The pain never stopped either. The feeling of being disassembled is nothing that can be described with words. Eventually, I ran away to escape this hell, that's when I met Stain.
Aizen: Overhaul didn't try to get you back?
Eri: He did. Sent one of his Eight Expendables to get me back. But Stain killed him and the people he brought with him. He took me in afterwards and trained me. I owe him everything for all he's done for me.
Aizen was left speechless at Eri's story. He knew something was up with Eri, but he couldn't fathom the sheer tragedy and horror behind it. He felt like throwing up.
Aizen: That's.......we're gonna make that son of a bitch pay! For both of us!
Aizen then gives Eri a hug. For the first time in years, Eri felt happiness. Aizen's rage seemed to subside by Eri. The two felt a sense of peace between each other.
Eri: We'll find him and make him pay!
Aizen: Fucking right we are!
The two waited for Stain to reurn from his reconnaissance at the Shie Hassaikai compound. But the bond between the two grew closer from the revelation of Overhaul's connection to their pasts.
