Mavis pursed his lips, as if he could sense his ninja eye magic had pierced my heart of stone (so dramatic). But he didn't say anything. He just put the pouch in his bag, slung it over his shoulder, and hobbled away. He was smiling until he rounded the corner.

I know because I didn't take my eyes off him.

through the grass and through the damp soil and run until you reach the river.

I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge once I got back home and trudged upstairs to do my homework. My feet left a trail of green and brown from the runrunrun

When I got to my bed and collapsed, I stared at the ceiling and my mind drifted. It looped and swirled and flew right back to him.
