Kat's P.O.V

Ever since the day I completely lost track of time Joey's been texting me everyday to make sure I take breaks and eat which I do. Today is his first day off so I've taken a day from work to hang out with him. We're watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier, my head wresting on his lap while he plays with my hair.

"Door." he mumbles as someone knocks on the door and I sigh, handing him the pack of Red Vines resting on my stomach as I get up and head to the door.

"Mum, Keith...What are you guys doing here?" I ask in shock.

"Can't we come and surprise our daughter?" Mum asks as Joey walks out and my mum eyes him.

"Of course you can. uh Joey this is my Mum, Helen and my Step-Dad Keith. uh Mum, Keith this is one of my room mates Joey Richter." I reply and they smile at each other.

"Please come in. Sorry about the mess we've all been busy lately." Joey says as we both stand aside to let the in.

"So where are you staying?" I ask.

"Well. Your mother was hoping we could stay here. Of course we're fine in a hotel." Keith says, smiling apologetically at me.

"No. It's fine. You two can stay in my room and I'll just crash on the sofa." I say.

"No you wont. This thing is super uncomfortable to sleep on. You can stay in my room." Joey tells me and I smile thankfully at him. Just as my phone goes off which makes my mum jump and Joey laugh as he reaches behind me and picks in up.

"It's Darren." he tells me as he hands it to me.

I stand up and walk into the kitchen.

"Hey DC." I smile as I answer it.

"Hey Kat." he replies and I frown, he never calls me Kat when we text or call each other it's always 'Gorgeous'

"What's wrong?" I ask and he sighs.

"This is...I don't want." he begins.

"You're breaking up with me again." I say holding back my annoyance and anger.

"Kat I-" he begins.

"Don't! Joey said this would happen! God you're the biggest douche I have ever fucking met! I guess this is a step up from last time!" I tell before hanging up. I slide down the wall as tears pour out of my eyes. Joey walks out and sits by me. He doesn't say anything and just lifts me onto his lap and let's me cry.

"You told me. I should of listened." I cry and he kisses the side of my head.

"Stop. He's a dick. A dick who didn't deserve you and you are an amazing girl who forgives and forgets." he says softly as he rocks me back and forth. He places me next to him before asking my parents to leave, saying that something's come up and they won't be able to stay.

After about ten minutes of both Joey and Keith talking to my mother they finally leave and he comes back in and offers me his hand.

"Movie marathon, Red Vines, Twizzlers, Chocolate, Hot Chocolate, Cookie Dough Ice Cream, Profiter Rolls and Pizza." He says as he offers me his hand, I look up at him, my make up most likely smudged down my face and I smile softly.

"Thank you." I say as I take his hand and he helps me up.

"Anything for you Kitten. I told you that Freshman year." He says as we walk back to the lounge.

"Yeah. You did. You've kept that promise too. Why do I always date douche bags when I could have the sweetest guy in the world like you?" I ask and he blushes before telling me he'll get the snacks while I choose the films.

Joseph Michael Richter. The most amazing and perfect guy I've ever met and we keep missing each other and when we get the chance to be together I act like I have no feelings for him when in reality I've been in love with him for seven years.

"Do I have something on my face?" Joey asks and I'm forced out of my thoughts.

"No. Why?" I reply and he smiles his prefect crooked smile.

"You were staring at me that's all. Now come here." He says as he sits down and opens his arms. I slide closer to him and cuddle into his side as he hits play on Harry Potter and The Philosophers Stone. We tuck into our comfort food and I sigh. If I had the guts to ask him out when I first figured out my feelings for him I might have missed all this heartbreak with Darren, that is if Joey reciprocates my feelings.
