This was wrote before Toby came out. I can't change the pronouns because a huge chunk of the story is about it being a mystery about which guy the reader is gonna meet :/
"You know I don't know why you're so nervous (name) this is a party not a ball." My friend, Bee, said as she applied my eyeliner. "I know but you're gonna be the only person I know there." I said, looking down at my dress. Bee was the one who invited me to this party as her plus one. It was going to be a "fancier" party so every was told to dress in black tie clothes. I only had agreed to go with her before I had nothing else to do. "You'll be fine (name)." She said, running her fingers through my ponytail, "I'm sure you'll make friends with my friends." She turned around grabbed a chocker off her dresser, "Put this on." I did as she said and put the chocker on, "Does it look good?" "You look hot (name) trust me." She said before holding her hand out to me. I grabbed it and she pulled me up out of my chair and dragged me over to the floor to ceiling mirror that sat against the wall. "You know one of my friends are single." She said pulling up Snapchat as she spoke, "I think he would love you." "Oh really?" I said before posing with her. When she had finished taking the picture I spoke again, "What's his name?" Before she could reply her phone rung and she quickly answered it. I sighed and walked over to her bed and plopped down before picking up my phone and scrolling through Twitter. She started talking and I ignored her for the most part until I heard her say my name, "Yea (name)'s coming so you have to make him come." She paused for a second before adding, "Tell him we're ready so he needs to get it together so he can come get us." She turned to me and smiled before adding, "We'll see you in ten." She hung up the phone and plopped down on the bed beside me, "They'll be here." I raised my eyebrow at her, "So, who's the boy that I'm supposed to fall in love with." Bee giggled before scrolling on her phone. Her face lite up when she finally landed on a picture. She handed me her phone and looked at me, "Well?" I looked down at the phone and six men looked up at me each one wearing a black sweatshirt with the words 'misfits' wrote across the front, "Bee you do know that there's six people in this picture right?" "Yes and all I'm saying is that it's one of them." She said before pointing at the one wearing a helmet, "I can tell you it's not him though." "Oh is that your man." I said smirking up at her. She blushed brightly before quickly changing the subject, "Which one do you think I'm talking about?" "Hmm." I looked at each of the men and before zooming in on them. One of them was probably well over six five and had blonde hair(RIP fitz's hair), the one beside him was cute with his pink hair, beside him was a man with brown hair, the next one was bald with a mischievous glint in his eye, and the last one had brown hair with beautiful brown eyes. "This one?" I said, zooming in on the man with pink hair. Bee only smiled before yanking her phone back, "Come on its been ten minutes, lets go outside." "Bee!" I said but before I could say anything else she was already out of her bedroom door. I sighed and picked up my phone off the bed, "Wait up!" I busted out the door about the time a blue car pulled up. Bee grabbed my hand and pulled me to the car saying something about how we were doing to be late. "Jesus Bee you're gonna pull my arm off one day." I said as she practically dragged me into the backseat of this car. I was in the middle of the seat pressed against her and some man I had never meet before. "Hey guys." Bee said before turning toward me, "Everyone this is (name)." Everyone said something along the lines of hello as we backed out of her driveway and onto the main road. We sat in awkward silence for a minute before I leaned over to Bee, "Who are these people?" She laughed lightly before blushing, "Sorry I forgot to introduce everyone." "That is Jay," she said pointing toward the man beside me. Jay looked up at me and smiled, "The person in the passenger seat is Eric." Instead of saying anything Eric just blew a could of smoke, "And our wonderful driver is Toby." She said and that's when I noticed that he was the boy with the pink hair. I blushed sightly as he looked at me though the rear view mirror. His pink hair laid effortlessly across his forehead and he had light stubble on his face. He was smiling lightly at me which caused me to blush even more. About twenty minutes later we arrived at the party. Bee and Eric got out of the car first and went hand in hand toward the door. I turned to Jay about to ask if he wanted to walk in with me but he was already gone too. I sighed and looked up at Toby who was the last one in the car, "Guess it's just you and me." He smiled at me as he put his keys in his pockets, "I didn't even wanna come." "Me either." I said causing him to turn around in his seat to face me. "Really?" He asked his accent thick. "Really. I only came cause I had nothing better to do and because I thought Bee would be lonely but obviously I was wrong." I said, looking down at my dress before playing with the edges. "I know you don't know me but do you maybe wanna leave this place and go to McDonald's?" He asked, running his fingers though his hair. "Actually I would like that." I said before getting out of the car and sliding into the passenger seat. Toby smiled over at me before putting his keys back in the ignition. He handed me the aux cord as he started to drive toward McDonald's. We made small talk all the way there mostly talking about the songs I was playing. When we arrived Toby got out and walked over to my door and opened it. "Thank you." I said, getting out of the car pulling my dress down as I did. "No problem." He said before looking me up and down, "God you are beautiful." I blushed bright at his words, "Did I say that out loud?" "Yea." I said before laughing, "You look handsome yourself Toby so don't worry." I grabbed his hand and pulled him into the McDonald's. Once we had got up the counter I cussed, "Damn I forgot my wallet at Bee's" "It's fine I'll pay." Toby said, pulling his own wallet out of his pocket. "Are you sure?" I said, shifting my weight from one foot to the other, "it's okay." "I insist." He said before adding, "Order whatever you want." We both ordered and got our food before sitting down at a booth tucked against the wall away from everyone else. I sat across from him, our knees touching every so slightly. I opened my fries and looked up at Toby who was looking back at me. Before I thought about what I was doing, I launched the fry at him. It fell on his black dress shirt before finally hitting the ground. He smirked at me before grabbing a fry out of my box and throwing it back at me. We laughed loudly, "You know I'm glad I went to that stupid party with Bee." I said as I ate some fries. "Why's that?" Toby said eating his own fries, "Am I that entertaining?" "Yea." I said blushing, "Can I tell you something?" "Yea." He said, leaning forward, "You can tell me anything." I sighed and thought about what I was about to say before finally speaking, "You know Bee told me that one of her friends were single and I prayed it was you." "Really?" Toby said before shyly adding, "Eric said the same and I hoped it was you too." "Wow." I said before leaning across the table and pressing a gentle kiss on his cheek. When I pulled away I held up my cup and motioned for him to do the same. "Here's to our friends for not being stupid for once." I said and we clicked our plastic cups together. We ended up staying till early in the morning. We talked about our lives and our careers and the games we loved to play. When we finally left I gave him my number and I knew it was the beginning of something magical.
