Morgan Miller usually prided herself on being a rather intelligent person but sitting on a park bench at 1:06 in the morning didn't feel so smart to her. The young girl sat there crying her eyes out. She cried for many reasons. She cried because she was tired, because she was cold, but she cried mostly because she still loved him after all the things he did. She still trusted him after he broke her heart so many times before. She felt so stupid and the crying made her feel even dumber. Why should he deserve her tears?

She sniffled a little, stood up and began walking home. As she slowly walked the three miles it took to get to her house she thought about how she got into this situation.

10:26 pm, 2 hours and 40 minutes before

It all started on a normal Tuesday night. She was sitting in her room reading a book. The book she was reading was called “Wonder” by R.J. Palacio.

She had gotten to a really funny part, page 199 to be specific. She sat up from her bed and started giggling uncontrollably. The thought of a a high school guy threatening 10 year old boys had her cracking up. Her uncontrollable laughter was silenced by a knock on her first story window. It was less of a knock and more of a very urgent, not so gentle bang.

As she opened her window a boy with dark brown hair pushed his way through and landed his face on her hardwood floor.
