"Taehyung-ah? It's time to take your medicine! Get down here!" Taehyung quickly shoved his bright blue journal underneath of his mattress, sticking the oxygen tube back into his nose and sighing.

Four times a day, he would take 3 different medicines for whatever ailment his mother told him he had. He never felt exceptionally sick, but he relied on his little oxygen tank as if it were bottled water.

He stood up, straightening out the wrinkles in his yellow cardigan and adjusting the brass buttons on his overalls. His socks were a plain white with small brown bears and his hair was tousled in a messy bundle of blonde curls.

It was no deny that Taehyung was cute; his aura was pure and hopeful and his eyes twinkled like newly created stars. But his condition wasn't so great- his mom told him so.

He grabbed the handle on his tank, silently slipping out of his little room and traveling down the tan stairs into the living room.

Taehyung always hated coming downstairs, unless it was to walk Yeontan. The rooms were all bare except for his, which was decorated with fairy lights and SNSD posters strewn everywhere.

He approached his mother silently, her face even more sunken and dull than the day before. Taehyung had noticed her physical and mental state deteriorating like ashes in a bonfire, but he promised her that he still loved her and he wouldn't leave.

He quickly grabbed the handful of pills and the glass of water from his mother, who simply stared at him whilst he downed each med.

His mother would never let him go, and she would do anything in her power to keep him locked up forever. Taehyung handed his mother the empty glass, leaning in and giving her a kiss on her forehead.

"I love you, mommy." His voice was softer than any down pillow, momentarily soothing his mother's anguish. She stood up, smiling a bit before colliding her hand with Taehyung's unsuspecting cheek.

The impact caused him to topple over, hot tears rolling down his cheek with such speed that he worried he would flood the house.

He went into a fetal position, covering his head with his arms as his mother crouched down beside him, punches covering his body.

It was like this often, so often that Taehyung had become accustomed to it. He simply laid there, waiting for her wrath to be over so he could escape and lock himself in his bedroom like he usually does.

After a few minutes, his mother stopped, grabbing her keys and exiting the house. There was a chain around the house, with a padlock preventing him from leaving. He waited to hear the loud click before letting more tears stream.

Taehyung choked out a sob, struggling to stand up. His body would look like a galaxy in the morning, blues and reds and purples blooming on his skin.

He dragged his only friend upstairs, opening his door and turning his fairy lights off. He yanked his breathing tube out, screaming at the top of his lungs. He ran towards his bed, lifting the mattress up and pulling out his journal.

He flipped to the middle of the book, a razor wedged tightly between the pages. He shakily picked it up, dropping his journal beside his feet.

Without thinking, he slashed at the top of his arms, blood spilling out with the same fervor as his tears. He grew dizzy, letting go of the razor and collapsing onto his bed. His breathing was labored with his tears never faltering.

"I'm sick," he blubbered, "Mommy is just doing what's best for me. I've been a bad son.."

It was hours before his mother returned, sneaking into Taehyung's room only to view a pool of blood beneath him, dried tears on his face and his breathing tube not on his face.

She sighed, bending down and taking the tube between her slim fingers. She placed it back into Taehyung's nose, brushing her fingers over his forehead, caressing his hair.

"Even though it's all your fault that he left me, I still love you." Her voice was hoarse. She smiled a bit, her mental state crumbling just a little more.

She didn't want to admit it. She was alone.
