Ethan Dolan
I woke up with Grayson wrapped around my torso, breathing heavily as he whined in his sleep, whimpering scared sounds. I shook him awake abruptly, not wanting him to suffer from the bad dream. His fist immediately slams into my chest, knocking my wind making me gasp and struggle to breath.
"Shit. Are you okay?" He asks, sitting up on his knees and looking down at my frantically. "Yeah" I wheeze, rolling over into my stomach and hunching my back to open my air way, regaining my breath.
I chuckle breathlessly, literally, and roll onto my back again, staring at him while panting. "I'm sorry, I had a bad dream" he mumbles, giving me a pitiful look. I smile small at him and pull him down on me, kissing his lips sweetly. "It's okay" I mumble back, pecking his lips multiple times.
"I could get used to this" he sighs dreamily, his head resting on my bare chest making me smile. "Yeah?" I asks and he nods, cuddling into me and making himself comfortable. "Do you want to go out on a breakfast date?" I suggest, hopeful of his answer.
He looks up at me, beaming, "I'd love that." He agrees, "we could take Xav" I offer and he nods, "it'd be good to spend some time with him" he agrees causing a smile to spread across my face.

"Xavier, come on" I grunt, trying I get him to sit still in his car seat so I could buckle him up. "No!" He screams, wiggling all over the place making me frustrated. "Xavier!" I scream, his body instantly tensing and sitting still. I get him strapped in and safe, tears falling down his face silently, "hey, shh, it's okay. Daddy just needs you to be still so we can go get yummies" I whisper, planting small kisses all over his sweet face.
He giggles quietly, sniffing and nodding as Grayson watches quietly, buckling himself into the passengers seat. I get in safely and take off, driving to the nearest diner by my house which was about thirty minutes out, Grayson started playing music and singing to the words as Xavier laughed at him.
We pulled up to he small breakfast diner, it reminded me of home, when I was little my dad would always take Mike and I to this diner that was within walking distance of our old house. We went almost everyday, that was until he got sick.
I got Xavier out of his car seat, setting him on his two feet and grabbing his hand that immediately reached for mine. We stepped up to the front doors and I opened it for Grayson to walk through, he mumbled a 'thank you' as we proceeded in.
"Hi! How many?" A kind deep voice asked from behind the podium, grabbing menus and silverware. "Three, and can we get a kids menu?" Grayson asks politely, I pick up Xavier and set him on my hip, holding him tightly.
His head rested on my chest, two fingers in his mouth as he looked around curiously. "Absolutely, right this way" the man waved us on, walking off towards the corner of the diner, sitting us in a booth near the back.
I got Xavier settled into a high chair, buckling the straps because he was the king of getting out of high chairs. Don't ask me, I don't know where he got it from. We get seated and put in our drinks, I ordered Xavier some chocolate milk while Grayson and I just got water.
"I'm thinking about pancakes, those sound yummy" Grayson spoke up, his eyes scanning over the big menu. I nod, "yeah me too, with some bacon and eggs probably" I mumble, not completely focused and he hums. I pick up the kids menu and scan the items, knowing Xavier would want French toast but he would be mad if I didn't ask.
"You want frenchies, bup?" I ask him and he nods happily, "Frenchies!!" He says excitedly, wiggling in his seat making Grayson and I laugh. "Fruit or yogurt?" I ask him and he looks around for a moment, "fruit!" He cheers and I nod, opening his package of crayons and setting them down in front of him. He picks up a green one and starts scribbling all over the paper, I smile at his actions and put my attention on Grayson.
"The atmosphere is great here" Grayson comments, probably unsure of what to talk about. "Yeah, I love this place" I tell him, searching his face for a subject to talk on. "So any plans anytime soon?" I ask and he shrugs, "I mean usually I go off of your schedule" he says and I frown, I almost completely forgot he worked for me.
Honestly I forgot I was even famous or rich, Xavier always humbles me. "Right" I chuckle awkwardly, "you went to the bar last night tough, made time for that" I joke and he frowns. "Shit" he mumbles making my brows furrow.
"What is it?" I ask and he sighs frustratedly, "I got into a fight with Bianca last night, we met up for a drink and started talking and a blow out happened." He shakes his head disapprovingly.
"What about?" I ask again and he bites on his lip, chewing on it nervously. "It was actually about you" he says lowly making my brows raise. "Me?" I ask, pointing to myself and he nods. "She was just being a bitch about how I haven't known you for long and I'm already giving myself up to you and that I don't make time for her. It's whatever" he dismisses and I shake my head.
"But that's not true" I deny and he nods, "Yes it is" he says in a disappointed tone, my lips pulling down. "She says I don't know you, and part of that is very true" he says making me scoff, "Grayson, you know things no one else does. So what if we met a few months ago? Who cares?" I ask, starting to get a bit upset."You're right" he sighs, the waiter coming up seconds after, "here you guys go." He says setting down the drinks in front of us. Xavier immediately sipping on his milk, "do you guys know what you want or do you need more time?" He asks and I shake my head, "we're good" I say and he nods, looking at Grayson expectantly.
We get through ordering and he takes the receipt to the back, our food now being next up. Suddenly in the middle of our conversation a blue crayon hits Graysons cheek making my eyes widen. "Xavier!" I scold, his giggling stopping as soon as he sees my face.
I hold out my hand, tears streaming down his face now as he puts his small one into mine. I slap his hand harshly, and he whines, "owie" he cries, "you don't throw things at people" I scold and he pouts, his bottom lip quivering.
"Do you understand?" I ask and he nods, "big boy words, Xavier" I demand, "yes, daddy" he mumbles and I nod, pressing a kiss to his head. "I'm sorry" I whisper and he nods, wiping the tears with his little fists. Grayson looks at me with concern laced in his eyes, "What?" I ask and he shrugs.
"You're so good with him" he comments and I chuckle, "I just punished him but okay" I shrug making him smile. "I meant the parenting part" he says in a duh tone. "I try as hard as I can" I admit and he nods.
Our food arrived shortly after, I prepared Xavier's French toast, cutting it up into little pieces. I also took away the grapes from his fruit bowl so he didn't choke. We all got to eating, Xavier all happy and smiley again.
"Mm, this is really good" Grayson says with a mouth full of food making me glare at him. "What?" He asks after swallowing his bite of pancakes, "I yell at Xavier for doing that, don't do it in front of him" I demand and he nods, "sorry" he mumbles and I nod.
Breakfast was really good, conversations of all sorts were exchanged. Grayson and Xavier's bond was really tightened as Xavier grew a strong liking for him. I paid for the bill and left a generous tip, getting Xavier back into the car and driving Grayson home.
