1~ a message

Andys pov
I was sat at home, fiddling with the tuning of my guitar, when my phone pinged. I pick up the grey iPhone and open it to view the notification.

@kirsty.m_x: Hey And, was thinking about going shopping and grabbing a Starbucks and heading to the park... you in? x

I smile a bit at the message. Kirsty has been my best friend since year 7, despite everything she stuck by me and I appreciate her more than anything. She knows fully well that I would never turn down a shopping trip with her especially if there's Starbucks involved.

@fovvs: um is that even a question? Of course I'm down, meet you at the subway in 30? x

Me and Kirsty met when we were 11, she was the only person who even cared to utter a kind word to me through that hell dubbed "school" and from then on we've been best mates and when we left sixth form 2 years ago we decided to move to America together. We both have small flats, we used to live together but now she has a girlfriend, Liz (she's literally the sweetest person in the world) and they live together in their apartment.

Despite what multiple people back home think and everyone we meet over here assume, we aren't dating and never will. I'm gay and Kirsty's bi, which to be honest I think is one of the main reasons she actually spoke to me 'cause she didn't care about my sexuality. Don't get me wrong, the entire year group wasn't homophobic, I just didn't feel very confident talking to new people especially when people had been spreading shit about me.

I began to get ready, I changed into my black ripped jeans and big yellow and navy jumper. I ran my fingers through my hair and grabbed my wallet, phone and keys before heading to the station to meet her.

I connect my phone to my car and start playing busted through the speakers. I sing along on my way before reaching a car park and hopping out. It's a short walk to the subway from here and should only take me about three minutes. Once I walk in and scan my rail card I see Kirsty on the platform and I walk over to her. "Hey" I greet. "Hey Fovvs, what's up?" She asks pulling me into a hug. "Not much, work's still boring. I'm still lonely. Same as yesterday in other words" I respond and she chuckles. "Aw you'll find someone soon And, I can feel it" she smiles rubbing my arm. I give her a smile back "anywho how are you ya know since I saw you yesterday?"

I just got back from shopping and we had a really nice time. We got pink Starbucks,I got a new jacket and a long sleeve shirt and we sat on the grass at the park for a bit and took some pictures. I pull my phone from out of my pocket and plug it in before checking my notifications. Nothing unusual, just a few snapchats which are all streaks.
I decided I'd post a pic on insta.
