Lance didn't know how long it had been since he first got here, he figured it had to have been at least a week. Being kept in a room with no windows and no sense of time had started messing with his mind, the fluorescent lights never turning off didn't help much either. He was no longer tied to a chair, his captors has switched to him being chained to the walls by his ankles. All he knew, was that someone named Lotor, is looking for something that was taken years ago, by some girl who had defected from whatever gang Lotor is in charge of. How it all connected to him though, he had no clue. None of Lance's family had ever gotten involved with any crime syndicates back home in Cuba, much less one in Altea. At least whoever had taken him had the decency to give him food and water each day. Lance had started to drift off into space when the door to his 'cell' opened.

Keith had deep cleaned his entire apartment, redecorated, and even planted a mini garden in his living room in the span of four days. Lance had been gone for almost two weeks and the only other lead that the police was someone matching the witness descriptions, on a security camera in the subway terminal Lance was taken from. The picture had been distributed among the entire state, it had even been shown on the news. They were doing everything they could to find Lance, yet it still wasn't enough. In an attempt to forget about everything for a few hours, Keith decided to finally look through the storage locker full of his mothers stuff. After Krolia had died, the state put all of her stuff in a long term storage locker that they would pay for until Keith turned 18. He had never had a reason to go through it and drag up old memories, so he never did. No matter what was in there, it couldn't be nearly as bad as going through all of the situations that Lance could be going through at the moment. It was for that same reason that he invited Rosa along to look through it with him.

Keith found himself frozen in front of the locker. What if he found something that would ruin the memories of his mom, or what if he found out that she wasn't the person he thought she was. It wasn't until Rosa put a hand on his shoulder when he realized he couldn't live in fear of the 'what if's' anymore. He pushed the button on the wall and the first thing he thought when the locker opened was that it was more full than he thought it would be. He stepped in slowly, Rosa silently by his side for support. As he looked around he saw various boxes and bookshelves wrapped in plastic, the books still on the shelves.

"I-I didn't think there would be this much stuff. I thought there would be maybe ten boxes at most," his voice wavered as he spoke, the pent up emotions of his mother's death coming back full force.

"Death has a way of bringing everything to light, it never seems like a lot until the person is gone." Rosa stepped forward, arms open, hands motioning for Keith to step closer. They stood like that, embracing one another for what felt like an eternity.

"I think I'm ready," he pulled away, "to go through all of this." As he spoke, he gestured vaguely at the stacks of boxes.
