With one foot hoisted up on the seat of the car, the girl slouched back. Acrid air blew through the tiny slit in the window into her eyes. Eventually, her eyes developed an unbearable itch. Too lazy to reach for her water bottle, the little girl shut her eyes briefly to relieve herself of the pain. It worked, momentarily. She decided to continue this routine.
It would be three hours before she would reach her destination. Her playlist only consisted of six songs, which she listened to on repeat. There was nothing much she could accomplish then, really, while in the back of a musty car.
Musty car, musty air , musty road. The girl tilted her head back, and tried to find a comfortable position. She looked up, and found herself staring into the sun. The glowing orb, held loosely between two hands, called out to her. Slowly, purple blotches of ink dotted her vision and she swung her head the other way. The sun was setting, soon it would be nighttime.
The peace only lasted for a moment, however, as it began raining, quite heavily indeed.
She slunk deeper into the seat, somehow, and wriggled about. Stretching her arms and legs out, she yawned. It was time to sleep, she realised. The mood seemed just about right. Thus, she closed her eyelids and turned on her side.
Not too far up in the sky above sat a rainbow, all of its seven colours glistening and shining and dancing in mirth.
