Will stared at the warm sunset moving slowly through his car window. He could hear his airport luggage scrambling behind him as they continued on their highway route. He hated this, with all his heart. Just when his life had started to settle back to an extend that he could find himself happy, it was yanked off yet again in seconds. He was angry. And frustrated. Everything just sucked at the moment.
"Will sweetie" A loving voice said next to him. Will turned his head to see his mother on the driver's seat glancing at him through the corner of her eye.
He turned his head back to the window.
"Will, talk to me." she said again. The blond just kept his eyes out on the sunset not daring to blink, it was too much to handle. He heard his mom give a sigh but she continued talking anyway.
"See darling, I know this is difficult for you. But look on the positive side to it, we will be back in Ohio with your old friends, your old school, together with your..." She paused for a second before deciding on her words "... your Dad."
"Yeah, I am so happy to stay with my biological 'dad' for another year before he decides to leave us again. Just like last two times." Will finally replied. Why was he having this conversation again? It was no use.
"He just wants to help, your high school education is important for your future-"
"Why now? After 6 years of not caring at all, he is worried now!? Does he even remember my name?" Will cut her off with angry tone.
They reached the end of the highway with heavy traffic. The car stopped softly and Will's mom looked down. Silence settled inside for a few moments. Then soon after was broken by a silent whisper, His mom's voice cracking in between. "...I know. I- I'm sorry William. I wish I could do better, earn more and pay it myself instead of being useless and putting you through this- "
"No, no mom. That's not what I meant. It's- it's not your fault. It never was okay?" Will clarified. "I just-... I am sorry. I understand. Just give me something time to..." he stopped mid-sentence. Adjust that what he was goning to say but the truth be said, he didn't know if you could adjust to this, even with a bank of time. He loved his old school in Ohio ofcourse, he really did but now... moving back there. It wasn't the same. For starters he would have to stay under the same roof as Apollo Solace a.k.a his other parental half that gave literally gave 0 f*cks about him and his mom after appearing for a year there when he was 9 and leaving again. Secondly, he had just left his settled and happy life in his California high school. And thirdly, he had too fit into a whole new high school now, with only 2 of his middle school friends still studying there.
Cecil Markowitz and Lou Ellen Blackstone, Will had contacted them a few months ago confirming their presence. God, He didn't even know if they even remembered him. This was disaster he told himself. My life crumpled up in to a huge mess and shot into the nearest dustbin. Will certainly did not know how the hell he would survive it. He was only was snapped out of his thoughts because of his mother's voice.
"Hey, I know. It's okay. We'll be together in it." she said.
Will smiled a little looking at his mom, the only person he could ever look up to. Even with so much going on she was supportive and optimistic. For him, Will to be happy. That did it for Will, something good to look forward too. A good time with his mom, Naomi Solace. The first and only important person that cared and would willingly trade her life for him.
"Yeah, together" He assured himself.
They continued driving towards their new life to-be ahead.
