I started at Lucifer, not blinking, not moving the arrow from it's position, locked into place like wood in a vice before someone starts either sanding it or starts cutting it by hand. I had no last words, and Lucifer knew that. The only thing that I really gave a damn about was the fact that my brother would walk in here and realize that now, no one was protecting him. Nobody could truely guard him or Tyler.
Tyler.
Even his name alone could make the bow and arrow quiver slightly from how violent my shiver was. I had left him downstaires, with Justin, not telling them what was wrong, only focusing on Lucifer's stupid shadow. And now, I was cornered. One lone archer couldn't possible take down Lucifer, otherwise it would have already been done. Lucifer would have already been defeated. Already have been offed. But there he was, still standing in front of me like a normal human might talk to a friend.
But Lucifer and I were no friends, and even I knew that. Any enemy of...my boss, was an enemy of mine. I heard someone banging on the door, and the voices of Justin and Tyler on the other side, bickering.
"Skylar!" Justin shouted as the door banged against where it was locked in place. They must be trying to break it down using their shoulders.
"Move Justin! I'm going to have to fucking kick it in!" Tyler cursed, and the door banged again, this time harder and more forcefully. Clearly, they were kicking it.
Lucifer laughed and stared me down, blue fire eminating off his fingers as he stroked something invisible, like his wife's hand or something. Yes, surprisingly, Lucifer has a wife. Who knew? He stared me down, his eyes black with only a red pupil. The sight caused me to shiver a bit, but the arrow stayed where it was.
"Skylar Vanessa Wolf, may you rest in peace, knowing that you have failed everyone you have ever loved."
Lucifer raised a hand - the nails twisted and curled into claws - and flung black, demon ichor at me, hitting every part of my body, just as the door finally gave way and crashed to the floor, along with me.
"Skylar!" Justin shouted, running over to me, kneeling my side, putting my head in his lap. Lucifer vanished into the shadows, laughing, and I folded in on myself, the buring pain unbearable. I had dealt with painful events from Lucifer, but the demon ichor burning into me was another thing all within itself.
"Justin....Tyler....be...careful!" I gasped out. "Demon....ichor.....it'll burn...you."
Tyler came over and knelt on my other side as Justin, carefully, laid me down on the floor, and Tyler looked down at me.
"Where can we take you where they can heal you?" he asked, his knee inches from demonic poisionus blood. I tried to move my hand to move his knee, but even the slightest movement of my body caused the posion within the ichor to burn it's way deeper into my skin.
"The only place that can fix this is Heave...." I stated, just as everything started to go black and I felt like I was falling.
