Chapter 5

Chapter 5: The Talk

Bella

Paul, Sam, Jared and Embry come walking into the house. I told the girls that my story wasn't a pretty one and I wasn't sure how the guys would react to it. They told me how they thought their wolves would react but none of them could tell me how Paul would react. Paul sees the stress on my face and comes over to ask if I'm okay. I shake my head and tell the wolves that the story might be best told out back. That way if they phased they wouldn't hurt anyone or destroy the house. The boys head out back and Leah tells them to go to the middle of the yard. Us girls stayed on the back porch. I stay on the first step and took a deep breath.

I proceeded to tell them how I moved here and met the Cullens. How I fell in love with him to the baseball games. How James Victoria and Laurent showed up and it turned out to be a game to the first two and the third went to Alaska to the other animal eating group of vamps. How I staged a breakup between me and him so I could make the tracker think I was leaving town so I could protect my dad. How James and Victoria then tracked me to Phoenix. How I thought James had my mom so I went to the rescue. How James attacked me and left the scar I had on my hand. How Alice threw me a party when I got a papercut. How Jasper the empathetic vampire felt everyones bloodlust and came at me. How Edward broke up with me in the woods. How Sam found me and took me back to my dad. How I became a zombie until I started hanging out with Jake. How Jake, Mike, and I went to the movies and by time movie ended Jake started feeling sick. How the next few weeks Jake cut off all and any contact with me. How I went to the meadow and ran into Laurent. How five giant ass wolves saved me. How I came to confront Jake and slapping Paul. How Alice showed up telling me he went to Italy to kill himself. I told them everything and when I was done I had four very angry wolves who took off into the woods.

"So that's how you knew about all this before?" Kim asks.

"Yes, Embry, Sam, Leah and injured Paul showed up. They told me how Paul's imprint was marrying his enemy and his wolf was giving up. They handed me a vial saying when I woke up it would either be before or after Edward left me."

"Wow," Kim says shaking her head.

We sit there and Paul tells us they're ready for the food. Kim, Leah, and I take the food out to the back and we see the elders and a couple others sitting there. Jake and Seth were two of them. Paul pulls me away from everyone and sits me on a log. He kneels in front of me and says he's sorry for being such an ass. He always assumed that he and I did something.

"Paul, if it makes you feel any better, I didnt really want to marry him back then. I wanted a family. Brothers and sisters who loved me. Parents who took care of me instead of the other way around. I know I have a family within the pack, but back then I wasn't really welcomed."

"Well, now you're part of the pack and we won't let you go so easily. Sam wants me to ask if there is any way you could get a hold of that scarred one or the big one. He thinks we need them to train us for the newborns you told us about."

"I'm not sure. I tried last time and didn't get any responses. I could try again though. What about us?"

"Friends who kiss remember," he smirks.

I laugh and my phone buzzes. Paul raises a brow and I shrug. I pull it out of my jacket pocket and see a number I don't recognize. I open the text.

The Major, Emmett, Rose, my mate Char and I will be headin' your way soon. By the way lil one I'm gonna like you. -Peter

"Who the hell is Peter?"

"I'm guessing Jaspers brother. He changed Peter and Charlotte back in the Southern Vampire Wars. I dont know how he got my number though since I've never even met him. I guess we can tell Sam Jasper and Emmett will be coming."

He takes my phone from me and puts it in his pocket. He tells me the extras were leaving so it was time for us to get back to the bonfire. He then tells me that Billy has told my dad I would be staying with Leah and he's fine with that. I ask why it sounds like he's kidnapping me for the night.

"Because I am," he says plopping down next to Sam and pulling me in his lap.

"So everything is good with you two?" Leah asks from Sam's lap.

"For now," I say. "Oh by the way Jasper and Emmett will be coming to help with the newborns. Peter and his mate will be coming with them."

"So we've got more vamps heading this way?" Embry asks.

"Five of them. Three of them are Cullens and two are not. Do you want me to text them back and say anything?" I ask.

"Sure, ask when they'll be here and ask them to meet us at the boarder when they get here," Sam says.

"Will do. Paul can I have my phone back?" I ask looking at him.

Paul hands me my phone and gives me a kiss on the cheek. I smile and pull up the text from Peter.

Not sure how you got the number. Tell Rose, Emmett, and Jasper I say hello. The Alpha of the pack would like to know when the five of you will be here and to meet at the boarder when you get here. Emmett, Jasper, and Rose know about it. I'm not sure why you'll like me, but okay... -Bella
