Chapter 16: Dowoon

Jimin pov:
I ran towards Minho and Han who had just ran out of the house. "Where are the others who went down with you two?"
"I.N got them out." Minho replies clutching the wooden board in his hand tight.
"We have to get you two to safety." I reply grabbing their hands I was about to run away but was met by four furies floating infront of us. I looked at them and concentrated before turning myself in one of them. I tried to communicate to send them away but they were smarter than I thought. One of their claws cut my abdomen. I hissed out in pain and turned back into myself. One of them lifted me up "Run." I manage to say to the boys.
"We can't leave you." Minho argues.
"Leave." I whisper before I felt the claws dig deeper in my skin. Then Minho threw his wooden bar at the fury who released me in shock. I fell to the ground and felt that I was lifted up by Han, we stumbled away from the furies with Minho walking ahead of us. But we couldn't get away fast enough and before we knew it we were surrounded by furies. The furies grabbed our arms and brought us towards Medusa. "Whatever you do, don't look in her eyes. " I tell them.

We were dropped on the ground infront of her. I bowed my head so I could only see the floor, her feet were pointed at us what meant she was looking at us. "Well done, take them with us " She orders a little hiss noticeable in the way she spoke. I saw her feet turn the other way as a sign that she had turned around then I heard something what scared me, it was Dowoon screaming my name. I turned around and saw Dowoon running in our direction. "No." I whisper in myself before looking at Dowoon "TURN AROUND." I scream.
"I am not leaving you." He yells.
"PLEASE DON'T." I shout but then I saw Dowoon his eyes widen, his feet slowly turning into stone. "NO." I scream "DOWOON."
"I love you Jimin." Dowoon says before he was completely turned into stone.
Tears began to fall down my cheeks as I looked at the ground. Then I saw her shoes infront of me. Medusa grabbed my chin and lifted it, I quickly closed my eyes. Her nails caressed my cheeks before she wiped away my tears "Love makes us weak, trust me I have been there and then I was turned into this."
"I thought you were in love with this certain demon." I spit back.
"I was talking about my ex." She replies "This Demon is just a pawn in my game, love can also be deceiving." Then she caressed my cheek "But if you truly loved him you open your eyes and you can join him up there."
I took in a deep breath I did love him with all my heart but I needed to survive to protect these kids and come back to my friends who I call family. "There are more kinds than romantic love." I respond.
She clicked her teeth before walking away "Fine, take them."
Then I was lifted up by an ogre and carried of to who knows where. I carefully opened my eyes and saw Dowoon his statue standing there in the middle of the field surrounded by bodies, I let the tears roll down my cheeks before whispering "I love you too Dowoon."
